The countryside and the farmer! 🐣 🌱 🍃 ¡El campo y el campesino!

    You may be wondering why today I start with an image of beautiful foods, full of color, that provoke just by looking at them. Well, today I would like to dedicate my publication to each of those foods that are born in the field, give us life and nourish us to carry our day to day in the best possible way.

Ustedes se estarán preguntando porque hoy inicio con una imagen de alimentos hermosos, llenos de color, que provocan de solo verlos. Pues hoy quisiera dedicar mi publicación a cada uno de esos alimentos que nacen en el campo, nos dan vida y alimentan para llevar nuestro día a día de la mejor manera posible.

    Who doesn't like rich tomatoes in a salad, with fresh lettuce, bathed with lemon juice and the spicy touch of the onion that crunches in your teeth when you chew. And can you imagine for a moment that homemade mayonnaise with free-range eggs? And if we add a little chopped cilantro on top it would be for me the perfect salad.

A quien no le gustan unos ricos tomates en la ensalada, con una fresca lechuga, bañado con jugo de un limón y el toque picante de la cebolla que cruje en tus dientes al masticar. ¿Y acaso puedes imaginar por un momento esa mayonesa hecha en casa con huevos del corral? Y si a eso le sumamos un poco de cilantro picadito por encima seria para mí la ensalada perfecta.

    It's amazing to see how we have everything at home, at hand, you go to the biggest and most elegant supermarket, buy it and that's it. As easy and simple as that. But what's behind every vegetable we eat every day?

Es increíble ver como todo lo tenemos en casa, a la mano, vas al supermercado más grande y elegante, lo compras y ya. Tan fácil y sencillo como eso. Pero ¿Qué hay detrás de cada verdura, vegetal que consumimos a diario?

    It happens that for every garlic, chili, coffee, fruit to reach your table, someone in the countryside has to plant it. The farmer dedicates hours of time, months of effort, capital and puts all his love in a harvest so that the best product will be sold in the big city.

Sucede que para que cada ajo, ají, café, fruta llegue a tu mesa, alguien del campo lo tendrá que sembrar. El campesino dedica horas de tiempo, meses de esfuerzo, un capital y pone todo su amor en una cosecha para que salga el mejor producto que luego venderá en la gran ciudad.

    My brothers and sisters cultivate the fields and this is inherited from my parents and grandparents. In the countryside where I was born, everyone grows something, especially tomatoes, peppers and grains such as corn, beans and peas. The land would be of no use if there were no people with the necessary knowledge to cultivate it.

Mis hermanos cultivan el campo y eso viene heredado de mis padres y abuelos, en el campo donde nací todos cultivan algo, sobre todo el tomate, pimento y granos como el maíz, caraotas y arvejas. Y es que de nada serviría la tierra sino hubiese personas con el conocimiento necesario para cultivarla.

    Being a farmer is a life, a feeling, a pride.

    To be a farmer is to love the land.

    To be a farmer is to be free.

Ser campesino es una vida, es un sentir, es un orgullo.
Ser campesino es amar la tierra.
Ser campesino es ser libre.

    It makes me very sad when I go to the vegetable fairs and I see how people throw things away, they fall on the ground and they don't pick them up, they step on them without any modesty. If only we gave it a little more value and felt what it cost the farmer to bring that fruit forward, since it was a simple seed.

Mucha pena me da cuando voy a las ferias de hortalizas y veo como la gente tira las cosas, se le caen al suelo y no las recogen, las pisas sin ningún pudor. Si tan solo le diéramos un poco más de valor y sintiéramos lo que le costó al agricultor llevar sacar ese fruto adelante, desde que era una simple semilla.

    I believe that the flavor, the brightness, the color, the size of the fruits and vegetables that we buy is provided by the soil where they are grown; much has to do with the climate, if it is cold or hot, if it is foggy or raining; If it does not rain, it must be watered with water from the river, caressed by the cool breeze of the wind and so it grows and the farmer takes care of the plant as if it were a newborn, cleaning it, removing the weeds that grow and then we must give it its medicine so that it does not have parasites and vitamins so that it grows strong and nutritious.

Creo que el sabor, el brillo, el color, el tamaño de las frutas y vegetales que compramos lo aporta la tierra donde se forman; mucho tiene que ver el clima, si es frio o caliente, si hace mucha neblina o llueve; sino cae agua del cielo debe ser regado con agua del rio, acariciada con la brisa fresca de viento y así va creciendo y el campesino va cuidando la planta como si fuera un recién nacido, limpiándola, quitando la maleza que crece y luego hay que darle su medicina para que no tenga paracitos y vitaminas para que crezca fuerte y nutritiva.

    On the other hand, the farmer is a cheerful, cheerful person, who greets you with love and respect. The farmer is a kind person and even if he is just getting to know you today, he opens the doors of his house and treats you as if he has known you all your life. How beautiful it is to live in the countryside, I am infinitely grateful to God to have been born a peasant and to represent these beautiful people wherever I go.

Por otra parte el campesino es una persona alegre, dicharachera, que te saluda con amor, con respeto. El campesino es una persona amable y aunque te esté conociendo hoy mismo te abre las puertas de su casa y te trata como si te conociera de toda la vida. Qué bonito es vivir en el campo, doy infinitas gracias a Dios de haber nacido campesina y de representar a esa bella gente donde quiera que voy.

    And if today you eat something delicious, think for a moment where each ingredient comes from, whether it is a chicken, meat, eggs, a fruit salad or a delicious juice; thank God 🙏🏻 and say a prayer for those people who cultivate what reaches our tables, say a nice thought and a prayer for their health, so that they always have strength and their hands continue cultivating each of those things that you like so much. Bless the earth, the rain, the birds, the trees, because each of them brings something to the world and makes it perfect.

Y si hoy te comes algo rico, piensa por un momento de donde proviene cada ingrediente, ya sea un pollo, la carne, los huevos, una ensalada de frutas o un rico jugo; da gracias a Dios 🙏🏻 y dedica una oración por esas personas que cultivan lo que llega a nuestras mesas, dedica un pensamiento bonito y una oración por su salud, para que siempre tenga fuerzas y sus manos sigan cultivando cada una de esas cosas que tanto te gustan. Bendice la tierra, la lluvia, los pájaros, los árboles, porque cada uno de ellos aporta algo al mundo y lo hace perfecto.
