We visited Bohol 3 years ago so after this, many improvements were done to improve its tourism more. This year, you can have a taste of adventure at Danao Eco Park or go island hopping and dolphin watching in Pamilacan and Balicasag island or go scuba diving in Bohol’s crystal clear sea.
The entire island was a haven of beauty and nature. the Boholano ambiance is really there to every place of the island, most specially the hospitality of the people.
The Chocolate Hills are an unusual geological formation in the province of Bohol and is its signature attraction. It was formed centuries ago. It started with the piling up of layers of marine organisms which included corals and shells. After thousands of years the rising up of the land exposed the coral reefs above the sea which turned it into rock called limestone. The continuous action of the waves formed depressions on the risen land which were then carved by rainwater and streams which eventually formed the hills.
According to the latest accurate survey done, there are 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). The hills are of limestone covered in green grass and during the dry season, the grass-covered hills dry up and turn chocolate brown, hence the name.
The Chocolate Hills are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. They are in the Philippine Tourism Authority's list of tourist destinations in the Philippines and have been declared the country's third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The province is a popular tourist destination with its beaches and resorts. The Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of limestone formations, are the most popular attraction. The formations can be seen by land (climbing the highest point) or by air via ultralight airplane tours. Panglao Island, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is famous for its diving locations and is routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world.
Numerous tourist resorts and dive centers dot the southern beaches. The Philippine tarsier, amongst the world's smallest primates, is indigenous to the island
I can say that Bohol yet small is a very clean place. It is a very suitable place for relaxation and of course, adventure.
I bet most people have already visited Bohol or if not, wanting to visit the island. If so, have an exciting and satisfying trip.
