Funny how you tend to see things so often that they become common and maybe just a little less special. It is another yellow flower after all. There is so many of them in spring.
And then you google and you get the name and it becomes a little more special (happens the other way round too sometimes). It is the same flower... why is it different just cause it is called Anemone?
Anemone palmata
I always like Anemones. The big ones grown in garden and the small wild ones that you can only find in woods or parks. Beautiful, delicate blooms. For a few years I also had some big navy blue ones in a pot, but every year there was less and less of them, until they just disappeared.
This is a wild growing one that can be easily found in Portugal, Spain, France and some parts of Italy and France.
It is not very big plant and if it didn't have the flowers, I would have never noticed it. The leaves are small and stay very close to the ground.
The flowers though stand up tall and proud on their skinny stems. Pretty, intense yellow petals and center really stand out. There is also a white type that I saw around, but this one seem to be more common.
