Hello everyone, Hive account@bucipuci you are doing a fabulous job by conducting this amazing contest. For this contest i would like to share about the beautiful drone beetle or the pseudotorynorrhina japonica.

It is known by many names such as kanabun,scarab beetles,drone beetles. In which the name drone beetle is the most popular one.

I happened to see this majestic beetle just front of my office cottage today morning. Yeah.. i know many of the people consider beetles as hidious and scary creatures but i think they are beautiful in their own ways.

They got this name drone beetle because of their looks and because of the sound,when they are flying.
Its scientific name is scarabaeidae .
It is of the genus pseudotorynorrhina and japonica is its species name.

They mostly feed on flower nectar and ripe fruit juices. These beetles spread their antennae to detect the smells of fruits and sap. They are mostly found in deciduous forests.

The drone beetles is a type of scarab beetles,similar to that of dung beetles. which are considered to be the beetles from which the ancient Egyptians got the idea of mummification.They were highly respected by the ancient Egyptians and their habit of making a ball of dung in which their larvae live inspired them.

The one that i encounter was a little shy and after posing for like a minute, it hide from me, under the leaves.
