The title is a little bit of a spoiler because I didn't capture him on camera jet. But because I am outside a lot these days, I did capture all kinds other nice pictures! I also capture a lot of turds because that is another way to confirm the wolf is here! to but I will spear you those pictures!
The last wolf in the Netherlands was shot in the year 1869! That because the people felt threatened by the animals and the livestock was more important back in the day's than the live of a wolf!
Now, since 2018, the wolf is back in the country! The first colonies was settled in national park the Veluwe and there, the first cubs were born in the year 2019. From there out they began to spread trough out the Netherlands! But they still kept on the east side of the Netherlands! The western part of our country is way to busy! But since the last view months, there is a young male wolf spotted on the National park Utrechtsheuvelrug! That is in the middle of the country, next to where I live!
And I really love that! I want to spot hem and take some pictures of him! So I am wondering around the forest very often for the past view weeks! But I think it's a very difficult task to get a nice picture of him! You need to be so lucky to capture him!
A couple of people from my neighborhood already spotted him! That is, they say they did! From a far distance it could be anything! And an other neighbor had heard him howling at night! He got it on recordings and it sounds very real!
In the nature reserve next door, there is a big area closed off for dogs and bikes! It's a big heather area that is being maintained by two flock of sheep! And guess what, 6 sheep were killed in two nights in a row! All by that one wolf! And he didn't even eat them!
After this attack, the herds are protected by electric fens!
You probebly can imagen that the wolf think these sheep are a nice snack! but there are so many deer in the forest around us! And that's still his number one favorite food!
It's an exiting time here now, but there any people are afraid, saying the wolf doesn't belong here! I'll keep you all posted and for now, here are some more pictures I shot along the way!
