THE UNDERGROUND ENGINEERS
Termites (Isoptera)
They are considered pests because they munch on houses made of light materials. These fellahs can make someone a vagabond if not exterminated right away. That's at least what I thought until my brother brought me to the backyard where he stumbled upon these little engineers in the pit he was digging. So, it turned out they could build brain-like houses underground.
THE 24-HOUR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
Weaver Ant (Oecophylla)
After a night walk, which I rarely do because I seldom go out of our house, I encountered these construction workers just as I walked in the gate. It was nighttime, yet they were still busy working on the house they were weaving with leaves from the jackfruit tree.
THE ALWAYS-ATTRACTIVE DESPITE THE APPEARANCE
Scarlet Mormon Butterfly (Papilio rumanzovia)
My brother caught this butterfly for me when he saw it hovering over some flowers near our gate. This little thing flew to my hand when I decided to set it free. Some may not like its color because it's kinda creepy, but I still find it beautiful because my favorite colors are black and red. After all, beauty is in the beholder's eye. 😊
