I live in Venezuela. In my country we have customs and knowledge of ancestral data, referring to the preparation of "natural medicines" through the use of plants (herbs, seeds, etc).

I recently had a conversation with a dear friend who lives in India, Hive account@adityajainxds.

I was very surprised when he shared with me a "grandmother's recipe" which promises to protect against the effects of COVID-19.
My surprise was due to the great similarity of our cultures (India and Venezuela) regarding the preparation of these "natural medicines" and the beliefs in the powers and faculties of plants to achieve healing.

I want to share with you this natural recipe which can strengthen our immune system and provide protection against COVID-19.

Three ingredients to mix in water.

1. Tulsi leaves (holy basil)
2. Turmeric powder (yellow)
3. Black pepper

I give you the reference too.

Preparation:

Put 1-2 glass of water. (1 cup is enough for one person in the morning).

Then put the tulsi leaves in it about 10-15 depends on the amount of water.

Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.

Two pinches of black pepper.

Boil the water for about 5 min until it starts to bubble.

Then it will look pale yellow.
And then filter it and it's ready.
1 cup in the morning is enough.

Turmeric or Cúrcuma is Spanish, it is very popular in Venezuela around here in Zulia we use it a lot, we have no problems getting it since they sell it in municipal markets and in most vegetable and vegetable stores, its scientific name is Curcuma longa, you I comment that multiple investigations have been carried out at an experimental level, and even though little progress has been made in its clinical action, it is known that its main property is its antioxidant effect, hence, it is recommended to consume it to prevent the appearance of cancer, it also has Broad spectrum antiviral action, even in some trials it has been used to inhibit HIV replication in patients with advanced infestation, perhaps for this reason they are recommending it to be added to these Anti-Covid-19 extracts.

Regarding the second species, it is the same Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) that we use in Venezuela to flavor, not to be confused with a variety called White Pepper, but basically they recommend it as an Anti-Obesity treatment.

The species that they are indicating to you and that they call Holy Basil, or Ocimum sanctum (Scientific name), here in Venezuela is known as Purple Basil, it is a species that since ancient times has been used by the Hindu culture, generally for its analgesic action to treat body pain However, there are scientific reports that reveal that they have positive effects to cure bronchial conditions that prevent normal breathing, now this species is not the same Basil that we know here in Venezuela, because the one that is sown in our country is called Ocimun basilicum, and It is used to purify the blood, to relieve blood pressure problems, however, I think it can also be used against Covid-19 because its essential oils also have antioxidant properties and therefore strengthen the immune system.

I suspect that the extract they recommend you prepare is for its medicinal cocktail-type effect.

It is something like this.

1. Turmeric = to prevent virus replication
2. Black Pepper = lower cholesterol levels, remember that this is the reason why Covid-19 affects the obese more.
3. Holy basil = calm the symptoms associated with the general discomfort that occurs in the first days of infection, now if you ask me, our Basil would have a better effect because it has antioxidant action and therefore improves the immune system.
