Many people know that there is a small zoo on Margaret Island, but less so that there are also animals saved here. Mainly storks and birds of prey live here that can no longer be taken back into nature. Storks nest here on the ground, unlike the natural ones, and raise chicks, so the care of the little ones can be observed very well. I don’t know if young storks can set off in the fall as they learn from their parents where to fly to get to Africa.
In any case, they are very cute, develop nicely and already show their black and white feathers. We Hungarians are particularly fond of storks as a bird that brings abundance and newborn babies to families. Storks are loyal to each other for the rest of their lives.
Many kinds of special ducks live here. Unfortunately, behind a net, they are in bondage, unable to fly away. The way they sleep is pretty weird.
I haven't seen a crane up close yet. Very imposing, elegant bird.
I could only photograph the peacocks from a long distance, the mesh fence unfortunately disturbed here as well
Finally, here are some cute and young spotted deers, probably the Japanese Sika. And yes, they are very tame, like calves.
I'm not normal! I'm a Humanoid!
