Woke up @ 6am, roads wet and the sky overcast & fresh from last nights rain to travel 40 minutes to discover the beautiful Cradle Moon Hiking Spot.
Start of the Trail
Cradle Moon founded in 1970, previously known as ‘Heia Safari Lodge’ is in the cusp of ‘The Cradle of Humankind’ - a World Heritage Site right on my doorstep.
I met up with one of my favourite humans, Kim (I call her Kimbi), and we set off on a 10km hike. We were welcomed by some Springbok, surprised by some Warthogs & took a cheeky selfie with an Ostrich.

While hiking we endured some rough ground walking through the forests. Sloshy mud from the rain which not only had me holding on to my grip as tight as I could, it invited Kimbi to the floor on many occasions. PS: I haven’t laughed this hard in ages! She was not injured & took all her falls like a champ 😉

We ended off our morning with a chicken burger and pulled pork wrap while watching a race take part in the dam next to us (unfortunately no photos of the race were taking due to two very hungry hikers stuffing their faces).
