Evening Walk
We usually walk with our dog during daylight hours, avoiding dark evenings. However, the other day, I had to drop off some stuff at my student's house, so we decided to bring our dog along. After dropping off the stuff, we took our dog to the park. Despite the darkness, there were other dog walkers and people playing ice hockey on the pond, creating a lively atmosphere on that cold evening.
The pond wasn't completely frozen. There was a still unstable part. I couldn't help but worry as I observed two youths playing hockey on the pond. Nevertheless, we continued to enjoy our walk. Our dog, in particular, was thrilled to explore the scents of other dogs in the dark, especially during the twilight hours.
The view near the pond was very beautiful, especially as our evenings grew darker after 4:00 pm.
This park is an off-leash area for dogs, allowing them the freedom they need. Our dog looks very happy when we give him a moment off the leash. We frequently provide him with this freedom to practice following us and maintaining a healthy distance from other dogs. When we call him, he usually comes to us immediately.
These days, we use our stove almost every day, but not today. The coldness has diminished slightly. Using the stove ensures a good night's sleep and a nice, cozy atmosphere. I got used to maintaining the fire but I'm still not good at starting it. Yesterday, we almost experienced a backdraft moment because it was too cold outside. On chilly days, we need to preserve the warm air inside the stove just before starting the fire.
I enjoy being in our warm room. The flickering flames of the fire bring me a sense of calm and relief. I find comfort in having a fire in the house.

夕方の散歩
普段、犬の散歩は明るいうちにすませます。ところが先日、生徒さんのうちに届け物があったので犬を一緒に連れていきました。用事が済んでから犬を公園に連れていきました。すでに薄暗くなっていたのですが、犬の散歩をしている人たちや凍った池でホッケーを楽しんでいる若者たちがいました。寒い夕方の散歩の雰囲気を楽しみました。
池はまだ完全に凍っているわけではありませんでした。私はそんな池で若者たちがホッケーをしているのが少し心配になりました。そう思いながらも散歩を続けました。私たちの犬は黄昏時の公園で他の犬たちの匂いを嗅ぐのがとても楽しそうでした。
池の辺りの景色はとても綺麗でした。最近午後４時を過ぎるとすっかり暗くなります。
この公演はリードを外して犬を自由にすることができます。私たちの犬はとても楽しそうにリードなしの時間を楽しみます。リードなしにすると他の犬との距離を上手にとることができるようになりますし、飼い主の近くにいて名前を呼ぶとすぐに近くに戻ってきます。
最近はほぼ毎日薪ストーブを使っていますが、今日は使用していません。寒さが少しだけ和らぎました。薪ストーブを使うと暖かくてよく眠ることができます。火を保っておくのが得意になってきましたが、火をつけるのがまだまだ得意ではありません。昨日は外がものすごく寒かったので危うくバックドラフトになるところでした。寒い日は、薪ストーブの中を暖かく保ってから火をつける必要があります。
暖かい部屋は心地よいです。炎を見ているとほっとします。家の中に火があるのは落ち着きます。
