I came to Chitwan yesterday, leaving the Kathmandu valley for 2 days. Chitwan is just 5 hour drive from the valley. One of the oldest national park of Nepal i.e. Chitwan National Park is also located here. Since, it is lockdown here too and the national park is still closed. I wouldn't be able to visit this time too. But wild animals are too often seen in the villages or near the forest areas especially Rhinos, deer and elephant. I am wishing to see some in my short visit. The forest of the national park is very dense and is home to rare birds, mammals. The rare one horned rhino is also found here along with Royal Bengal tigers.
Chitwan is mostly forest and village areas. Though there are some town and busy centers here especially made for tourists and attraction point. I took a short walk outside my friend's house as soon as I arrived here. Though the weather was pretty hot than in the valley, it doesn't actually feel hot with you being surrounded by trees everywhere. The trees seen in the background is of Areca nut which is called "Supari" (सुपारी) in Nepali. Sounds of birds are more common everywhere you go. I will be visiting more of its places today and would be sharing other photos too in my coming post.
