I moved to Queensland five years ago, and fell in love with the array of beautiful bush walks, mountain climbs, and spectacular views along the way. Here are some photos of a few of our favourite adventures we've been on.
- Mount Warning
This was the first hike we tackled, which probably wasn't the smartest idea as its definately the most exhausting of them all. We climbed for about 3 hours, and were sucking in the big ones pretty early.
Located between the NSW and Queensland border, Mount Warning stands at 3,800ft and is approximately a 5 hour round trip. Totally worth it upon drawing closer to the summit with stunning panoramic views.
- Mount Coolum
We absolutely love climbing this 25 million year old laccolith, it only takes about 30 minutes to hit the top, with 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounds including the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast. Head straight to the beach after for a refreshing dip, and then for a feed at one of the many local cafes. Perfect hangover cure.
- Kondalilla Falls
Nestled within the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, is another hidden gem. This bush walk takes you through a rainforest filled with trees over hundreds of years old. Keep an eye out for the abundant bird life, as well as enjoying the view once you reach the waterfalls, and the rock pool for another refreshing dip. Bring a picnic too, make a day of it.
These are just a couple examples of the beauty that lies around South East Queensland, and a few of our favourite day trips
