Bird of Paradise flower carries a symbol of success, freedom, immortality, loyalty, love, thoughtfulness and optimism. I first heard of this flower from a movie called from prada to nada. As a teen, I thought this flower was native to America and South America as the movie set was in the barrio of Los Angeles. But apparently, it is native to South africa. In Indonesia itself, Strelitzia can be found in many places though it’s not too common but it exists. People plant this flower when they want to have a tropical look in their home.
The other day when I visited my aunt, she grew some strelitzia in her small garden. They were all growing beautifully and the sun shines a light making it even more graceful. In picture, they certainly exude optimism through its colorful color and warm green tones of the leaves. I suppose, I remember in the movie from Prada to Nada, the guy handed the bird of paradise flower to the girl to show that he was interested in the girl. It was unfortunate that I didn’t bring my camera with me and only had my phone. Lately, I didn’t bring my camera with me and most of the time, I missed out on a good object to shoot at. But just like I like to believe, flowers will look good anytime! They make great objects to shoot at.
