He pointed and said; "Please look that way while I take a drink from the straw"
I will show you the antics of a tiny mantis that had the cheek to land on my hand. He seemed to be a shy little fellow, but sadly we had no food for him.
Come and have a look!
A small "Praying Mantis" (Mantis religiosa) sat on a straw in a can and because we were watching him, he decided to turn around!.
Swung around to check his options for a getaway!
And landed smack on my hand looking at me!
You can see him sitting here thinking about what to do now!
Dropping his shoulders and thinking that this guy has nothing for him to eat!
This was the last of him, as then he flew into a flower bed!
We could only hope that he didn't land near this Yellow jacket Wasp (Vespula germanica)!
So, what's the story here?
Well it is about our children when they go out there to experience life. I for one was streetwise at a very young age, always outside due to a lack of supervision and had to face many dangers in the streets.
There are many human predators out there waiting to prey on naïve and innocent young ones.
As parents we should all try to prepare our children for the dangers out there, as in our charity work, we deal with many youngsters that ended up on the wrong side of the tracks.
Wasps are parasites, so please don't let your child become the prey of a human parasite!
And That's All Friends!
I leave you with this to think about!
