Three is a crowd!

I don't think that the lovers expected a third party to spoil their fun. They must have been seriously embarrassed with the Sherriff's arrival to stop their fun!

Here is my humorous version of what took place here.

These are "White-spotted Fruit Chafers" (Mausoleopsis amabilis) and a strange thing happened today.

I see many photos of mating insects of all sorts, but hardly ever any showing a third party spoiling the fun.
Come and watch what took place here in our garden today.
A struggle of note!

At first the mating couple was occupied in their business at the bottom right of the flower.

Here you can see them making happiness!

But then for some reason they moved to the top of the flower and the girl's father made his appearance.
You can see her mother hiding her face at the right of the flower.

Yeah, the father was trying desperately to separate the other guy!

But the original guy hung on for dear life!

Almost made it, but now the mother stepped up and we now had four at the party.

Imagine that poor girl at the bottom of this lot!

Thankfully the Sherriff arrived to stop the house molest.
All that I can find on the Sherriff is that he is a "Yellow Eyed Wasp" from South Africa.

The poor girl was laying at rest in the back and the boyfriend left with a warning not to disturb the peace.

Shame, I can only imagine how that loving couple must feel and the parents are not going to be happy about the incident!
Maybe the Sherriff will warn them not to engage in natural activities in the insect public lol.
Nature is filled with wonders and of course it all depends on how one looks at things methinks.
