The most beautiful spider in Poland / Najpiękniejszy pająk w Polsce [ENG/PL]

In the photo, the most beautiful spider living in Poland, the wasp spider (Argiope bruennichi) from the Araneidae family, but only the female, which has characteristic yellow stripes. She reaches a length of up to 25 mm. The male is much uglier and smaller. It is harder to see because the female eats it after copulation. 😜

This spider lives in wild meadows covered with tall grass. It builds a web that catches flies, grasshoppers, butterflies and other insects. One such insect is enough for him for a week. It is venomous, but its venom is too weak to be dangerous to humans.

Since 2011, it has not been legally protected in Poland because it has spread widely. I took my photo near the garden, where the spider built its web on the tall grass.

Na zdjęciu najpiękniejszy pająk żyjący w Polsce, czyli tygrzyk paskowany (Argiope bruennichi) z rodziny krzyżakowatych, ale tylko samica, która ma charakterystyczne żółte paski. Ona osiąga długość do 25 mm. Samiec jest znacznie brzydszy i mniejszy. Jego trudniej zobaczyć, bo samica zjada go po kopulacji. 😜

Pająk ten żyje na dzikich łąkach, porośniętych wysoką trawą. Buduje sieć, w którą łapią się muchy, koniki polne, motyle i inne owady. Jeden taki owad wystarcza mu na tydzień. Jest jadowity, ale ma zbyt słaby jad, by być niebezpieczny dla człowieka.

Od 2011 roku nie jest objęty ochroną prawną w Polsce, gdyż mocno się rozprzestrzenił. Swoje zdjęcie zrobiłem przy ogrodzie, gdzie pająk zbudował swoją sieć na wysokiej trawie.
