It cut me. Thrice!
I had to put my green bin on the side of the road this morning and figured I would cut away the big plume of ornamental grass(?), before they emptied the bin. I was smart enough to use a glove on the hand that held the grass. I should have been smarter and used a glove on the hand that held the shears aswell. So now I have cuts and it stings.
How likely is it that I will remember this life-lesson next year?
I still have much to do in the garden. Gotta clean up the sticks I put there to hold up my tomato plants (they are also mean and gave me a small leg wound). Gotta remember where I put all of my tomato plants, so I can find the sticks. Gotta clear out a lot of weeds. Gotta cut away one of the bushes that has to make room for my cherry tree. Gotta get hubby to help me move the cherry tree. Gotta cut away more ornamental grasses (use gloves!), because I want to move them aswell, to make room for an actual vegetable garden (which is now spread all across the garden inbetween the pretty flowers).
Most of these things should be done now-ish. There's one bush I want to move in spring, because it has only just stopped flowering and they say that means you have to cut/move it in spring. So that's a great one for procrastination.
I am not in a very gardeny mood, so getting all of these things done is going to be hard. Atleast the bigger bushes have been cut and are ready for winter, so some of the 'must do's' are done.
I think moving the cherry tree is the most important task, which means removing the bush to make room for it is important. But moving the cherry tree leaves room for one of the grasses I want to move, so might aswell move that right away, which means I need to start with cutting them. Do you see how I feel less and less enthousiastic about starting this stuff, the more I think about it? There's also one, huge bush standing in the way that shouldn't be cut until spring, so ugh, that means crawling around in the garden a lot.
And what about all of the spiders!
Oh well, it's mostly about just starting, isn't it?
