Last week we went to visit my beautiful Waraira Repano, known by all as Avila. And here I leave as a link the video of the experience.
I had been almost two months without going to the mountain, pure beach, and coast. I decided to go to the mountain for a while.
La semana pasada fuimos a visitar a mi hermosa Waraira Repano, conocida por todos como el Ávila. Y aquí dejo como link el video de la experiencia.
Llevaba ya casi dos meses sin ir a la montaña, pura playa y costa. Decidí lanzarme un rato a la montaña.
Although I invited many people, we were only four, but it is not a question of quantity, but of quality, it was much better, because we did the tour faster.
Aunque invité a un gran número de personas fuimos solo cuatro, pero no es cuestión de cantidad, sino de calidad, fue mucho mejor, porque hicimos el recorrido más rápido.
Piedra el Indio
It is an area of Avila that has a great view of the capital. It also connects with different points of the park, such as Piclinko Oriental, Paraíso or Quebrada Tocome, and Sabas Nieves.
I do not know why the name. It is a large rock formation that serves as a lookout point. As soon as I find out the origin of its name I will let you know since I read it somewhere before.
Piedra el Indio is at about 16000 meters above sea level, there is no water intake and no place to camp. Even so, on weekends it is a very popular place. Many people go up to enjoy the day.
Es una zona del Ávila que posee una gran vista de la capital. También se conecta con diferentes puntos del parque, tales como Pico Oriental, Paraíso o Quebrada Tocome, y Sabas Nieves.
Desconozco por qué el nombre. Es una gran formación rocosa que hace de mirador. En cuanto averigüe el origen de su nombre se los haré saber, ya que en alguna parte lo leí anteriormente.
Piedra el indio está a unos 16000 msnm, no hay toma de agua y tampoco sitio para acampar. Aun así, por los fines de semana es un lugar que se vuelve popular. Mucha gente sube a disfrutar del día.
How to get there?
If you live in the greater Caracas area, it won't be difficult to get there. At the height of the Sebucán distributor, there are the nearest entrances to the Cota Mil, from there you can choose any entrance. There are Sabas Nieves, Sebucán, Cachimbo and even Estribo Duarte. Although the most direct is the one we took, the one from Cachimbo. At a moderate pace, in a matter of 2 or 3 hours, we arrived at the place.
Si vives en la gran Caracas no se te hará difícil llegar. A la altura del distribuidor Sebucán quedan las entradas más próximas de la Cota mil, desde ahí puedes escoger cualquier entrada. Está Sabas Nieves, Sebucán, Cachimbo e incluso Estribo Duarte. Aunque la más directa es la que tomamos nosotros, la de Cachimbo. A un ritmo moderado, en cuestión de 2 o 3 horas arribamos al lugar.
The longest trails are those of Sabas Nieves or Estribo Duarte. Sebucán is a bit lonely to climb, so it could be dangerous to go alone, it is one of the entrances that does not have a park ranger post.
Los senderos más largos son los de Sabas Nieves o Estribo Duarte. Sebucán es un poco solo para subir, así que podría ser peligroso ir solo, es una de las entradas que no cuenta con puesto de Guardaparques.
Experience
It was relaxing and quick, I needed it to be in tune with Avila as if giving us our respective affection. We went up at nine in the morning and arrived at 11:45 am to the place. We spent an hour resting, taking pictures, and planning our next destinations. Furthermore, we got off at 12:40 pm and by 2 pm we were in Caracas.
Fue relajante y rápido, lo necesitaba para estar en sintonía con el Ávila, como dándonos nuestros respectivos cariños. Subimos a las nueve de la mañana y arribamos a las 11:45 am al lugar. Nos quedamos una hora descansando, sacándonos fotos y planeando próximos destinos. Bajamos a las 12:40 pm y a las 2 pm ya estamos en Caracas.
This experience allowed me to take some beautiful pictures, which I now share with you.
