Hello Hivers
December is a slightly worrying month in my place, rainfall in this month is usually quite high, even this is the third time some areas are flooded, but for nature, especially grass, rain is a miracle for them, grass grows so fast, and in behind the green grass there is always a mystery in it, one of which is caterpillar, by chance this time I found a very cute monster, he looks very beautiful and attractive
According to research sources, I found that this beautiful caterpillar has the Latin name Dasychira,
Dasychira is a genus tussock moth in the family Erebidae which was described by Jacob Hübner in 1809,They are well distributed throughout Africa, Europe, North America , Madagascar, Japan, China, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Java and Australia.

This caterpillar has quite unique body parts, it has long hair like a mustache on its face, and on the tail there are also the same hairs, black and straight, it really caught my attention when I first found it
He also has a strange shape on his back, four lumps which also contain fine and thick hair are clearly visible, similar to the punk style, and the fine hairs pile up to form 4 parts with different sizes, and the color is also different from the other parts. other body
I deliberately enlarged this section to see more clearly, the hairs seem very soft, but it's impossible for me to touch them, that's ridiculous, as we all know, being exposed to caterpillar hairs will cause itching on the skin even it can spread to all parts of our body, so I forget about that and just enjoy the beauty it has, the brown color in this box is really beautiful
The raindrops are still clearly visible stuck in the caterpillar's fur, I think that is one of its strengths, the sharp-looking hairs serve as a rain coat for it, (I think),,, and more importantly the hairs is a protective tool that this caterpillar has, in addition to protecting itself from opponents, it can also protect itself from rain, even heavy rain may not be able to wet its body, only parts of its fur are exposed to rain
All parts of this caterpillar do look adorable, only the face is a little scary, it has a mouth like a predator in the movies
At first glance his face is almost similar to a koala, that's because the fur on his face is long, and he has round eyes, but when you look at his mouth, that's where the real face of the caterpillar is visible, that he's not as cute as imagined, all my expectations before does not match reality, but he is still said to be beautiful
As far as I have read, the beauty of this caterpillar does not stop there, because later it will turn into a cocoon and turn into an extraordinary butterfly, but the hairs will disappear later and I don't think I need it anymore, because it already has wings as a replacement later
This caterpillar is also a little aggressive, even though he didn't attack me, he wanted to run away several times, unlike other caterpillars I've met, they will stay in place and remain a good model, but that doesn't apply to this monster
His body size is not too big, almost the size of a toddler's little finger, but he can run fast enough from one branch to another, I even had a little trouble taking a picture of him, he hid under the leaves of the grass,
Another unique body part is the legs, the shape of the legs are like jelly and a bit long, and it looks like it can cling very tightly to branches, and the number of legs is also a lot, maybe that's why it can run fast
Attention as he turned to other parts of the branch, the foot on the tail held tightly to this branch of grass, and the other leg opened so big while looking for another foothold for him to catch, he also curved his body beautifully, added with that look on his face as if he wants me to chase him😅
The longer it seemed that this caterpillar was getting more and more uncomfortable, he even tried to run away from my cellphone camera many times, because of that I no longer bothered him and immediately left the location with some of my best catches
Well, I think that's all I can share for this time, if there is a mistake in naming this animal, you can let me know, thank you and see you soon
