Blue burdock (Echinops ritro) grows on Deliblato sands ... With its flower balls it decorates the surroundings ..... we took a walk on Deliblato sands located in Banat, Serbia .... I often walk in these areas and always learn something new ... And it fascinates me because all the plants I manage to recognize are medicinal, and some grow only in this area .....
Blue burdock is widespread in that area ...
And I meet him often ... He likes parts where there is only sand and he doesn't like to be pushed with other plants .... I noticed that ... and it grows right next to sandy roads, a part that other plants avoid .... I read about it and I was surprised when I saw that it is grown as an ornamental plant in backyards .... It is beautiful but it is also prickly ...
And because of that I am surprised that it is grown cultivated .. The flowers are special and unique ...
they decorate bouquets and when it dries it is placed in dry flower arrangements .....
Here's a curiosity ..
"Echinops comes from the Greek ekhinos (hedgehog) and opsis (looks). The thorny chapters ... remind us of a small animal ... when it comes into a ball!"
In the first year, the leaves and roots are edible, prepared by cooking and very rich in vitamin "C"
Now I will show you the surroundings a little wider ... Because we rarely go this wild road .... I think they used to extract sand there ... And in that part I have some grass but it is completely sand ...
That day the sun shone and make a good photo without accompanying equipment was very difficult ... But I hope that I will be able to present you this part of the sandstone in a beautiful light....
Dry grass, decorates this part of the sandstone .... there are several species but I have not yet determined which species ... I have seen some only in this part .....
This part is mentioned in some articles as Serbian Tuscany .... I visited Tuscany, and I can tell you that this part really reminds me of the landscapes of that Italian area ....
And the blue burdock is somewhere in the background ...
There is beautiful sand .... so let me bring you a little closer .... and one pink flower that shares sand with blue burdock ....
That day, the blue of the sky was breathtaking ...
The touch of autumn is also noticeable .... except on the rustling grass ... and on the leaves ....
And another interesting detail, snails sleep on the dried grass .... There are a lot of them and they are adorned with grass..
And we slowly left that interesting part ... we went down to the road and went deeper into the forest ...
For me, it is always an adventure to visit Deliblato Sands .... I managed to visit only a small part with my sister .... And my wish is to try to visit the whole ...
I hope you enjoyed this socializing with me and the sandstone....
