Amazing Nature Contest - June 2021 - #03
Host great 🤗🌼
Lavender is a special plant for me! I don't remember when, but I've been planting and propagating it for years ... I have seven bushes in the yard and two in pots and one bush on the street ..... If I had room I would still plant it ...
Butterflies and bees are inseparable companions of lavender ...
Lavender is the queen of the Mediterranean and there are about 50 species .... the color ranges from pink to purple ... I have white and I had pink, but it has withered ...
The legend of lavender says that a girl of striking beauty once lived. The young men longed for her attention, and among them were two robbers. They did not stop at the girl's refusal to court, so they intercepted her on one occasion and wanted to take her "love" at any cost. When they tore her clothes from her body, the girl turned to the ground out of shame and cried bitterly. At the place where her tears were falling, purple flowers began to sprout and spread so that it enveloped and hid her body.
The young men, seeing that, got scared and ran away.
This legend from the Mediterranean tells about how the first lavender sprouted. Since then, it is believed that the girl, who carries a waist of lavender with her, is safe.
The most famous lavender fields are in Provence, and my wish is to visit and walk through those fields ....
Lavender is a medicinal plant, for soul and body ... The scent of lavender relaxes and calms, you fall asleep better when you are in the room ... Here is an interesting story ...
King Charles VI of France did not travel anywhere without his favorite pillows stuffed with lavender, because that was the only way he could easily fall asleep ....🤗
And this is another type of lavender, brought from Montenegro, it grew by the sea .. And it has a slightly different flower if you look carefully ...
There is also a story about how lavender oil started to be used ....
In order to encourage smart thinking, they used to smear topics and foreheads ...
Diogenes then thought about it and determined that "only birds benefit from such lubrication, because the smell goes into the air"
He thought ... If I rub it on my lower limbs instead of on my head, then the smell will slowly envelop my whole body and reach my nose.
That's what he did, and since then lavender oil has been applied like that ...
The Romans used lavender oil for bathing, refreshing the space, protecting against mosquitoes and flies, disinfecting wounds and as an addition to mixtures of herbs for smoking. Hence today the name Lavender and Lavender, from the Latin root Lavara (follow) or Livendula (blue, bluish).
Various peoples through the centuries have used lavender for disinfection, from various diseases .... so they also used it for protection from evil, putting a bouquet of lavender in a pocket and made a cross of lavender flowers and put it on the door to protect themselves .. .
There are many more interesting things, this was the most interesting for me ...
So I brought you closer to the plant that I love and enjoy spending time with 🤗
