I am so fortunate to live, where I do. Within a few minutes, I can reach such beautiful and wild places in nature. Yesterday evening I attended a triple birthday celebration, two of those celebrating are good friends of mine. The party was in a different valley to where I live, with the wonderful River Guadalfeo connecting us.
This is the route I took to reach there. Along the river. It's pretty toasty here right now, so I waited until almost sundown to venture out. Until it was the perfect temperature to walk. It took me about 30 minutes to get there.
I could probably walk it quicker, if I was fully focused on the walk, but it's so beautiful, that I had to pause many times to take in my surroundings.
And also to greet the river! I love walking with the sound of the river flowing next to me. Such wonderful music to my ears. I wasn't the only one enjoying the river, as up ahead I was greeted by the wonderful sound of bells.
These goats were the only other beings I met on my walk. I'm sure there was a shepard somewhere, but I didn't see him. Perhaps he had dozed off somewhere, as finally the heat of the day was beginning to die off.
Or perhaps he was in one of these caves. They don't look so big from the photos, but there was definitely enough room to cool off in there. Alot of shepherds make little dwellings in the many caves in the area.
As the evening wore on, the light began to change and with it the landscape. Everything was now beginning to be bathe in warm shades of orange.
At this point I could hear the music in the distance. So I made my way to the river, so that I could take a quick dip. Even though it had cooled down a lot, I was still quite hot from walking, so stripping off znd taking a plunge in the fresh river water was so invigorating. I've no pictures unfortunately, I was too busy getting wet.
Then it was time to head more inland. This was the path that would take me to the party. Tree lined all the way. It felt so good, to leave the river and step towards these trees.
I love this walk way, it has such a magical feel about it. I mean it's not hard to imagine magical creatures living in here. Going about their daily lives, as I made my way through this beautifully overgrown pathway. I just kept moving towards the music.
I didn't really take any pictures of the party, as usual I was too busy dancing. There were a few DJs and also this wonderful group, Eat Prunes, some of them are good friends of mine. The sing really uplifting lyrics, over some really nice fat Drum n Bass tracks. They always get the crowd going.
All in all, I had a wonderful evening. I mean what's better then being in nature, bathing in a river and then getting to dance with friends.
