My niece and nephew have been staying with us for around a week and, today, I thought to take them for a walk by the canal to feed the ducks π¦
Itβs a fairly short walk to get to the water and when we arrived, we found egrets/white herons, everywhere: in the trees and on the street!
Naturally, the little people were thrilled to pieces π€
I brought with us a bag of shredded lettuce π₯¬ abd another of diced bread. The rule was we were not to litter, and only to give them more food only after they had eaten what we had, already, given them.
It was sweet to see baby ducks, sitting by the water and I made sure the kiddies gave them ample space.
What we did not expect was the arrival of this spectacular black bird β who was not the least interested in the food or us & seemed as proud & exotic as a peacock π¦
After His Majesty was done sunbathing he dove after the food that we had thrown in to feed the turtles π’ which had shown up.
We bid the remarkable dark creature adieu and continued down the canal, after around an hour, to head home as the kids were getting a little rowdy.
On our way back, we decided to pass through a small neighborhood park.
Overhead, we could see a giant falcon circling and clutched the one year old for dear life, as we caught sight of another large bird sunbathing.
All in all, it was a lively hour and a half walk and to cap it off we were lucky to greeted by a small rainbow π at the water fountain β²οΈ
I hope youβre having a wonderful Wednesday & have the opportunity to connect with Nature ππ½β¨
