Muy buen día hivers, hoy vengo con un tutorial ideal para principiantes en las costuras, pues permite conocer y desarrollar varias prácticas esenciales de esta disciplina. Lo primero es ir por los materiales: tela bistrech, satinada de 3 colores, hilos, aguja, tijera, algo redondo para hacer el molde, alfileres, paciencia y cariño.
Good morning hivers, today I come with an ideal tutorial for beginners in sewing, because it allows you to know and develop several essential practices of this discipline. The first thing to do is to get the materials: bistrech fabric, satin fabric in 3 colors, threads, needle, scissors, something round to make the pattern, pins, patience and love.
Bueno hivers, aca en Chile empiezan las fiestas patrias, y como toda celebración eleva los ánimos con comidas y sobre todo la decoración, a todo lo adornan con azul, rojo, blanco y flores, por su puesto yo aproveche la oportunidad de ir por esas telas, pues se me ocurrió hacer este mantel doble para mi lugar de trabajo.
Well hivers, here in Chile the national holidays begin, and as any celebration raises the spirits with food and the decoration, everything is decorated with blue, red, white and flowers, of course I took the opportunity to go for those fabrics, because I wanted to sew this double tablecloth for my workplace.
Yo quería emular la bandera de Chile, entonces empecé por una base roja redonda, puede usar un objeto redondo del tamaño deseado, sin embargo yo doble la tela en 4 partes, sujeté con alfileres y marqué la curva para la circunferencia, luego recorté dejando un centímetro como margen de costura.
I wanted to emulate the Chilean flag, so I started with a round red base, you can use a round object of the desired size, however I folded the fabric in 4 parts, pinned and marked the curve for the circumference, then cut leaving a centimeter as seam margin.
Para los triángulos de los otros 2 colores, medí lo necesario en el círculo base y recorte en ambas telas. También, aparte marque la estrella blanca, esta me llevó un poco más de trabajo pues no coincidía el tamaño adecuado. Ahora sí, con todas las piezas, les queme un poco las orillas para evitar que se abra, pues a veces esta tela depende de la calidad se deshila, luego sujeté con alfileres y pasé una costura recta sencilla para unirlas las piezas, logrando el primer mantel, con la bandera chilena.
For the triangles of the other 2 colors, I measured in the base circle and cut out on both fabrics. Also, I marked the white star, this one took me a little more work because it didn't match the right size. Now, with all the pieces, I burned the edges a little to prevent it from opening, because sometimes this fabric depends on the quality and it unravels, then I pinned and sewed a simple straight seam to join the pieces, achieving the first tablecloth, with the Chilean flag.
Ahora, para la otra cara del mantel, elegí un diseño estampado de flores, lo enfrente con el derecho del primer mantel y alrededor lo sujete con alfileres, de esta manera cosi por todo el borde, con paciencia procurando hacerlo lo más redondo posible, con una costura recta simple, deje un espacio pequeño por donde le di la vuelta, dejando los 2 derechos por fuera y lo cerré con una con una costura recta guardando los bordes. Y listo el mantel 2 caras para decorar la mesas, a mi me gustó el lado floreado con lo rústico de la mesa ¿Qué les pareció?
Now, for the other side of the tablecloth, I chose a flower print design, I faced it with the right side of the first tablecloth and pinned it around, in this way I sewed all around the edge, with patience trying to make it as round as possible, with a simple straight seam, I left a small space where I turned it over, leaving the 2 rights on the outside and I closed it with a straight seam keeping the edges. And ready the 2-sided tablecloth to decorate the table, I liked the flowered side with the rusticity of the table, what do you think?
