Ya casi a fin de año, yo aun entregando regalos de último minuto, el tutorial de hoy es un short al cual tuve que modificarlo después de pensar que estaba listo. Acostumbro a hacer unos cuantos pantalones cortos para mis sobrinos para estas fechas ya que es verano y vacaciones escolares.
Hello my dear hivers, yarn and needle workers. It's almost the end of the year, I'm still handing out last minute gifts, today's tutorial is a short which I had to modify after I thought it was ready. I usually make a few shorts for my nephews and nieces for this time of year since it's summer and school vacations.
Para este short use tela de camiseria, porque es bastante fresca, un patrón que ya tenía, hilos, agujas, maquina de coser, alfileres, elástica, tijeras. Al cortar la tela, me fui directamente a la máquina, sin ver detalles. Corte 2 piezas, para que el pantalón fuese sin costuras laterales.
For these shorts I used shirt fabric, because it is quite cool, a pattern I already had, threads, needles, sewing machine, pins, elastic, scissors. When cutting the fabric, I went straight to the machine, without looking at the details. I cut 2 pieces, so that the pants were without side seams.
Al momento de unir las entrepiernas me di cuenta que el estaba bastante pequeño el short, aun no descifro si es un patrón equivocado o no deje márgenes de costuras, menos mal conseguí tela negra para aumentar el tamaño por los laterales, porque de la estampada tenía lo justo. Así que medí lo que faltaba para agrandar y corté.
At the moment of joining the crotch I realized that the shorts were quite small, I still can't figure out if it's a wrong pattern or if I didn't leave seam allowances, luckily I got black fabric to increase the size on the sides, because I had just enough of the printed one. So I measured what was missing to enlarge and cut.
Primero, corté por los laterales abriendo el pantalón nuevamente, con alfileres ajusté las franjas para luego pasar una puntada recta y luego una semejante a las overlock, asi como ven en la imagen, también verifique que el tamaño estuviese correcto, midiendo con otro pantalón de muestra que tengo.
First, I cut along the sides opening the pants again, with pins I adjusted the stripes and then I made a straight stitch and then a stitch similar to the overlock, as you can see in the image, I also verified that the size was correct, measuring with another sample pants that I have.
Después, cosí los orillos del ruedo, y la pretina en la cintura, la doble 2 veces y primero pase una costura recta por borde superior, y luego en el inferior dejando un espacio para el canal por donde pasará la elástica, porque la intención es que el pantalón dure al menos un año ajajaja.
Then, I sewed the selvedges of the hem, and the waistband at the waist, I folded it twice and first sewed a straight seam at the top edge, and then at the bottom leaving a space for the channel where the elastic will pass, because the intention is that the pants will last at least a year hahaha.
Así, atravesé la elástica con ayuda de un alfileres y finalmente uní las puntas amarrandolas, luego cerré la abertura continuando la puntada recta. Para darle un toque más profesional, planche toda la pieza, dando especial atención en las costuras. Listo el regalo que casi no logro entregar ¿qué les pareció? So, I went through the elastic with the help of a pin and finally joined the ends by tying them together, then closed the opening by continuing the straight stitch.
