Si ustedes son habituales por acá se habrán dado cuenta que tengo rato cosiendo cositas de verano, pues en Chilito recién empezó y creanme que lo adoro, me encanta el calor, su ropa caribeña, holgada, colorida, me siento como en libertad, tomando bebidas con hielo y sentir el refrescamiento por todo el cuerpo, ufff, me emocioné, pero sí, la verdad es que mi raíz Caribeña explota de felicidad en cada verano.
Hello hivers and sewing lovers, today's post is dedicated to Hive account@needleworkmonday where we needleworkers concentrate our talents, share our work and stay motivated. Today I show you another summer tutorial about the needlework your season challenge, this one is about representing the season of the year you are in with threads and needles. If you are regulars around here you may have noticed that I have been sewing summer stuff for a while, because in Chilito it just started and believe me I love it, I love the heat, its Caribbean clothes, loose, colorful, I feel like in freedom, having drinks with ice and feeling the refreshment all over my body, ufff, I got excited, the truth is that my Caribbean root explodes with happiness in every summer.
Bueno a lo que vine, te cuento, el año pasado para el 24 de diciembre me compré este vestido, es fresquito, la tela elástica es suave, la verdad es muy cómoda; no lo usé más hasta hace poco y mis piernas sintieron tanto calor que picaba, así decidí cortarlo y el sobrante lo transformé en otro vestido, asi tengo 2 gracias a uno. Los materiales son: el maxi vestido, alfileres, tijeras, hilo, aguja y creatividad. Lo primero que hice fue medir y marcar lo largo del primer vestido, luego sujeto con alfileres y corté, cómo quedó bien, pase una costura similar al overlock por todo el ruedo y listo el primer vestido.
Last year for December 24 I bought this dress, it is cool, the elastic fabric is soft, the truth is very comfortable; I did not use it until recently and my legs felt so hot that it itched, so I decided to cut it and the excess I transformed it into another dress, so I have 2 thanks to one. The materials are: the maxi dress, pins, scissors, thread, needle and creativity. The first thing I did was to measure and mark the length of the first dress, then I pinned it and cut it, as it looked good, I sewed a seam similar to the overlock around the hem and the first dress was ready.
Paso siguiente, con el sobrante de la tela, marque y sujete con alfileres la forma del segundo vestido, básicamente fue reducir 3 cm de cada lado para así queda ceñido al cuerpo, con la cintura visible, con el excedente de esos cortes hice los tirantes del 2do vestido, como pueden en la foto. Acto seguido, uní las piezas grandes con alfileres por los laterales o lados a coser, allí primero pasé una costura recta con tensión 2 por ser la tela elástica y luego las similar a la overlock. Para los ruedos tanto inferior como superior, primero la overlock por el orillo y luego doblé con una costura recta.
Next step, with the leftover fabric, mark and pin the shape of the second dress, basically was to reduce 3 cm on each side so it is close to the body, with the waist visible, with the excess of these cuts I made the straps of the 2nd dress, as you can see in the photo. Then, I joined the big pieces with pins on the sides or sides to be sewn, there I first sewed a straight seam with tension 2 as the fabric is elastic and then one similar to the overlock. For the upper and lower hems, I first overlocked the selvedge and then folded with a straight seam.
Penúltimo paso: los tirantes, estos los doblamos en 4 partes, hacia adentro, y uní con costura recta, todo siempre sujeto con alfileres, luego los coloqué en el vestido a la altura de los hombros y en la espalda, esta vez lo hice de forma cruzada, por último, para darle un detalles sensual, en la altura del pecho con ayuda de una elástica fruncí unos 10 cms. Ahora sí, listo el 2do mini vestido veraniego para disfrutar del calor con todo ¿Qué les pareció?
Penultimate step: the straps, we folded them in 4 parts, inwards, and joined them with a straight seam, everything always fastened with pins, then I placed them on the dress at the shoulders and back, this time I did it crosswise, finally, to give it a sensual detail, at the height of the chest with the help of an elastic I gathered about 10 cms.
