Buen día hivers, acá en Chile ya está apretando el frío invierno y mi cuerpo lo sabe, me cuesta levantarme temprano de la cama y estar el tiempo regular en la costura, sin embargo, este año es distinto pues me he dedicado a mantener un ritmo, tal vez más suave pero ya no nulo como los inviernos anteriores.

Parte de ese ritmo lo he ido ajustando gracias a un curso para autogestionarse como artista, me ha servido mucho, pues he aprendido sobre economía, autovaloración, y más detalles que si gustan, les comparto en otras publicaciones. Otra cosa, que también me ha ayudado mucho son los pedidos externos, el que les traigo es uno muy especial.

La próxima semana mi sobrino tendrá un baile con motivo hawaiano, su mamá me pidió el favor de hacerle parte del vestuario: un pantalón blanco y yo como tía enamorada por supuesto que acepté. En seguida me dió un pantalón para hacer el molde, ella sabe que me encanta el carnaval y todo lo referente a disfraces, me preguntó si tenía los collares hawaianos y yo por supuesto que sí.

Este pantalón hawaiano lo hice sin costuras laterales externas y tipo cargo, es decir, con bolsillos a los lados. Entonces, corte 5 piezas, 2 bolsillos y las dos bases del pantalón hawaiano, sumandos unos 4 cms a las piernas y 4 más en la cintura para hacer el canal por donde va un cordón que también corté de unos 100 cms de largo y 4 cm de ancho.

I made this Hawaiian pants without external side seams and cargo type, that is, with pockets on the sides. Bueno, primer paso, fué hacerle el orillo a los bolsillos y doblando hacia adentro los ruedos como ven en las fotos, luego los cosí en los laterales del pantalón, después uní las partes principales del pantalón hawaiano desde el tiro a la cintura y cosí, luego abrí las piernas y desde el tiro, pasando por las piernas y uniendo con alfileres, pasé una costura recta y luego una overlock.

Ahora es el turno de la pretina, la doblé y sujeté con alfileres, lo mismo hice con los ruedos de las piernas, pasando la costura correspondiente, después fue el turno del cordón, lo doble en partes y cosí, con ayuda de un alfiler lo atravesé por el canal, finalmente pasé plancha y listo el pantalón hawaiano. Now it's the turn of the waistband, I folded it and pinned it, I did the same with the leg hems, passing the corresponding seam, then it was the turn of the drawstring, I folded it in parts and sewed, with the help of a pin I crossed it through the channel, finally I ironed it and the Hawaiian pants were ready.
