Hello beautiful community of the needle workers.
It's time for another project. Here's a dress I made for Ceelina. The fabric I used is called the African print.
She wanted an assymetric neckline dress with collars and I delivered.
I drafted the dress first on my pattern paper. After which I cut it out.
The half bodice is a princess dart cut. The dress is a knee length with half bodice cut.
I transferred the pattern onto the fabric after which,I interfaced the fabric and the lining. I did the same for the lower bodice of the dress and proceeded to sew.
At some point, my machine foot started misbehaving, so I sent someone to get me another, sadly the person got me a wrong foot. I have no idea, what this particular presser foot works for, if you have an idea I'd love to hear from you.
I had to halt my sewing that day, becbecause it was late to get another one. The next day I resumed sewing as I went to the market myself to get the correct presser foot.
I hurriedly sewed the cloth to completion as the client was to pick it later in the day. I couldn't take shots of each process.
The dress came out looking stunning. The sleeve is a balloon sleeve with elastic.
Here's an Uplcose view of the sleeve.
For the finishing of the dress, I did a bagged out technique.
Here's also an up close view of the collar and how the zipper is laying perfectly.
This is the beautiful view of this dress and it came out looking amazit. My client came in for fittings later in the day and she loved it.
Images used are mine.
