Welcome to a new week needle workers..
I love it when clients walk into the office without stressing me.
This particular client already brought a picture of what she wanted and I just took her measurements.
Firstly, I love the African print so much. Aside black, Red seem to be one of my favorite colors. Red pops on almost anything and can be paired with a couple of color.
Why I loved the project was how my client made the work easy by being decisive from the outset.
Unlike some who come in indecisive of what to make, after many back and forth, they end up choosing four styles in one outfit ๐คฃ.
It usually tiring, as I need to jot down every detail so as not to make a mistake.
This style is a trending Vee-neckline bubu for both front and back.
One thing that makes all the difference when sewing, is how I take out time to press every seam line during production.
That's exactly what I did here. You can even see the iron steam.
After which, I secured every part I wanted to sew with pins. I joined the front neckline to the back neckline, joined the shoulder to shoulder and then sewed the side and sleeves.
The sleeve wasn't cut out, like the way it should in kaftans. It was cyt together with the shoulder.
For this style, I made use of free hand. It doesn't require plotting or drafting a pattern. There's no dart to manipulate or waist to cinch. So it was very easy to sew.
I started about 8am and by 10am I was done with cutting, ironing sewing and packaging.
Here it was displayed on my dummie for picture purposes.
Here are the different view of this dress.
This is the back view. The vee is a very deep neckline exactly how my client wanted it.
This is the up close view of the back. The strap was also part of the style.
This is the front view. It's so simple yet gorgeous.
When my client came in for fittings, she loved it so much and that's the essence of being in business.
Being able to satisfy my clients.
Here is the full view of the front. My client is very tall, and I loved how amazing she looked on her dress.
I'm currently working on another project and would share with y'all when I'm done with it.
Images used belong to me.
