Hey!!!buenas noches queridos #needlewokers espero esten pasando una noche increíble ✨🪡🧵.
Hey!!! Good night dear #needlewokers, I hope you're having an amazing night ✨🪡🧵.
I tell you that I felt like the week went by fast, fast since I had bought this beautiful fabric to cover the cushion that did not have a nice lining, and it is that I always use this cushion especially to avoid irritating the skin when I am sitting, whether writing, working or doing something else important, but here I want to tell you that this is the first time that I have decided to make a cover for a round cushion and although it is my first time, it did not turn out badly at all 🤭😂 but here the important thing is that I want to share with you this process that I feel I found very nice.
It did not cost me much to make the mold because the truth is that I was guided by the outline of my cushion and in this case it is easier to cut the pieces, what I do feel was difficult for me was to make the part of the flights that go around the cushion or the outline that gives more volume to the shape of the circle as it is made, it looks very pretty and delicate the fabric that I chose to make it is printed with bears and I feel it fits perfectly, these types of fabrics are used to make covers for cribs for babies, if you have this type of fabric I invite you to take advantage of those scraps of fabric that can be used for some other cover of a cushion that I would later be very grateful to have made in your free time .... I show you below the materials that I used that the truth is there were not many, join me ☺️😍.
Materiales:// Materials:
- Retazos de tela para sábana
- Máquina de coser
- Tijeras
- Hilo
- Alfileres
- Sheet fabric scraps
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- Thread
- Pins
Pasos a seguir://Steps to follow:
Paso 01
Step 01
As I mentioned at the beginning, cutting the pieces for the cushion was very easy for me because I only cut a circle leaving two centimeters extra from the outline because that is where we are going to sew it and when we sew and turn it the cushion shrinks, so using the round piece of the cushion that we cut I will cut another circle but this time I left 2 centimeters more from the outline and cut it in half, I left these two centimeters because that is the back part and the idea is to make the cushion that we are only going to put in and take out, so those two centimeters are for the hems of the pieces, I also cut 2.70 meters of the fabric list for the bias or gathering of the outline and added 12 cm of width.
Paso 02
Step 02
I moved to my overlock machine and started by sewing the edge of my back pieces because that's where we'll be making both hems. Then, using the machine and using a straight stitch, I made both hems two centimeters apart and sewed with a normal seam to seal.
Paso 03
Step 03
Then I will join both pieces of the stretcher because I did not cut them completely since the fabric was not enough but there is no problem without a solution here we just join them and seal with overlock, then I go around the entire contour to sew it with the overlock and I make a small hem on the edge of approximately 1 centimeter also so that this seam is not free, then what I did was place it around the entire contour of the complete circular piece and with the help of the pins simply so that the fabric does not roll.
Paso 04
Step 04
I wanted to make some found planks on the edge of the cushion so it looks nicer. Here I placed them with pins in their entirety and I was sewing slowly along the edge. Once I have sewn this part then I am going to place here a piece from the bottom of the cushion then one on top. It doesn't matter if it is facing inwards. The idea is to place one on top of the other on the opposite side and sew both pieces together along the edge with the ruffles facing inwards. Then simply after sewing we are going to turn it over and that's how it is finished.

Look how pretty this beautiful lining for my cushion has turned out 😍🪡🧵it looks so pretty that I can't stop looking at it 🥰what do you think? Tell me how easy it is to do this type of sewing, I know that from now on I will enjoy having a very pretty and delicate cushion hat, and the truth is the day I went for this fabric there were many options to choose from but I liked this one the most because of the bears 💖🐻the print is very pretty.
