I've been quite busy and haven't been able to share some of my sewing projects with you, but today we're back with renewed energy! This time, I'm going to show you how I made these little monkeys for a client's grandson. They're easy to make, and I hope you like how they turned out. Come join me in the process!

Paso 01

Okay friends, what I did first was fold the fabric and place the monkey as a reference for cutting. My client gave it to me to use as a measurement if she wanted me to add more centimeters to the length, so before cutting I measured the desired length with my measuring tape and added 2 cm below that measurement. Then I proceeded to cut two identical pieces. Next, on the front piece of both monkey pieces, I made a 1 cm drop, which will indicate the front of the monkey. Then I cut the waistband, 3 cm wide by the length of the baby's waist measurement or whatever measurement you have as a reference.

In the next step we are going to start sewing and we will do it by joining our monkey's crotch seams on both sides with an overlock and straight stitch. If you don't have an overlock, don't worry, you can do it with a zigzag stitch. Then we open it up and we are going to sew our entire crotch in the same way we started sewing, finishing the seam with a straight stitch.

Now we have sewn the crotch of the monkey and what we will do now is sew the waistband. We will do this first by joining the ends, then we fold it and place it around the circumference of the monkey's waist, leaving a small opening through which we will insert the elastic.

I added this thin elastic to the jumpsuit because my client wanted it this way to avoid it bothering the baby. We inserted the elastic through the hole we had left, threaded it all around the perimeter using the ribbon tool, and then sewed it together, joining the ends of the elastic once we knew the waist measurement. We sewed the hole again and finally sewed the 1.5 cm wide hem. With that, the jumpsuit was finished. Now let's see the results.
