[ENG/ESP] Black crochet scarf. Ribbing stitch./Bufanda negra a crochet. Punto elástico.

This season I've taken to making myself a couple of scarves. In my last post in this community I shared with you the details of how I made an infinity scarf with speckled wool. Well, I'm the kind of person that if I like something I can't help but buy several of the same thing; for example, I buy several t-shirts of the same model but in different colors, or two pairs of the same shoes with a different color. This is something I do since I can remember and I don't know how to stop it, although to be honest I don't know if I really want to. As this behavior is not rare in me, the last time I went to buy wool I took home two skeins with the same design: a pale pink one that I already used for my infinity scarf and a black one with which I made this scarf in ribbing stitch that I think was quite nice and I will share the details with you.

Esta temporada me ha dado por hacerme un par de bufandas. En mi publicación pasada en esta comunidad les compartí los detalles de cómo realicé una bufanda infinita con lana moteada. Bien, soy la clase de personas que si les gusta algo no pueden evitar comprar varios de eso mismo; ejemplo: compro varias camisetas del mismo modelo pero en diferentes colores, o dos pares de zapatos iguales con otro color. Esto es algo que hago desde que tengo uso de razón y no se cómo cortar con ello, aunque siendo honesta no sé si realmente lo desee. Como este comportamiento no es raro en mí, la última vez que fui a comprar lana me lleve a casa dos madejas con el mismo diseño: una rosa pálida que ya la usé para mi bufanda infinita y una negra con la cual realicé ésta bufanda en punto elástico que me parece que quedó bastante bonita y les voy compartiendo los detalles.

I learned to knit the ribbing stitch with a poncho I made for my daughter, I loved this stitch, it looks very nice and I chose it for this scarf because with the speckles of the wool it would highlight the stripes that are formed when knitting this stitch. As with the previous scarf, I didn't knit a chain stitch at the beginning, but worked directly into the knitting. We start with two chain stitches and then we make a loop passing through the previous stitch, we pull out a stitch in front to gain height, there will be three turns of yarn left on the needle and we pull it all out at the same time. Remember, first we pull out one stitch and then all of them together. Repeat the looping process, cast off only one stitch in the previous stitch and then all three stitches together. In this way we advance to complete a base of 18 centimeters. This depends on the taste of each one.

El punto elástico aprendí a realizarlo con un poncho que hice para mi hija, me encantó este punto, queda muy lindo y lo elegí para esta bufanda porque con las motas propias de la lana resaltaría mucho las franjas que se forman al realizar este punto. Al igual que la bufanda anterior no realicé punto cadena para el inicio sino que fui trabajando en el tejido directamente. Empezamos con dos puntos cadena y luego hacemos una lazada pasando por el punto anterior, sacamos un punto al frente para ganar altura, quedarán tres giros de lana en la aguja y la sacamos todas a la vez. Recordemos, primero sacamos un punto y luego todos juntos. Repetimos el proceso de lazada, sacamos solo un punto en el punto anterior y luego las tres juntas. De esta manera avanzamos hasta completar una base de 18 centímetros. Esto depende del gusto de cada uno.

Now we knit a complete round of double crochet to form the base to work the ribbing stitch. When we reach the end we turn the fabric and begin to work the ribbing stitch, we make a loop and pass the needle in front of the first immediate stitch, and we knit a double crochet. This stitch will be in relief. Again we make a loop and now we pull the needle behind the next stitch. We alternate one stitch in front and the next one in back until we have completed the whole row. We turn around and continue working alternating the stitches keeping the order so that the characteristic lines of the elastic stitch are formed.

Ahora tejemos una vuelta completa de puntos altos para formar la base para trabajar el punto elástico. Al llegar al final damos la vuelta al tejido y comenzamos a trabajar el punto elástico, hacemos una lazada y pasamos la aguja por delante del primer punto inmediato, y hacemos un punto alto. Este punto quedará en relieve. Nuevamente hacemos una lazada y ahora sacamos la aguja por detrás del siguiente punto. Vamos alternando un punto por delante y el siguiente por detrás hasta completar toda vuelta. Damos la vuelta y seguimos trabajando alternando los puntos manteniendo el orden para que se formen las líneas características del punto elástico.

Once we reach the desired size, we make a closing stitch so that the fabric does not fall apart and we hide the excess wool at the beginning and at the end. We measure the position where we want to place the buttons and fix them with black sewing thread.

Una vez que llegamos al tamaño deseado hacemos un punto de cierre para que no se desarme el tejido y ocultamos el excedente de lana del inicio y del final. Medimos la posición en la que deseamos ubicar los botones y los fijamos con hilo de coser negro.

The design is to be used closed with the buttons. I liked it very much and I was very satisfied with the results, it was not as complicated as when I worked for the first time with this type of yarn since I already knew which needle to use. I'm waiting for Sunday to wear it, but honestly I'm praying that the weather will be nice enough to show off my beautiful black scarf, say a prayer for me so I don't drown in heat as it happened with my daughter when I crocheted her wool poncho. El diseño es para usarlo cerrado con los botones. Me gustó mucho y quedé muy satisfecha con los resultados, no fue tan complicado como cuando trabaje por primera vez con este tipo de lana ya que ya tenia precisado cuál aguja usar. Estoy esperando el domingo para usarla, pero honestamente estoy rogado que el clima del día se preste para presumir mi linda bufanda negra, digan una plegaria por mi para que no me ahogue en calor tal como paso con mi hija cuando le hice su poncho de lana a crochet.
