[ENG/ESP] First target of my Bucket List. /Primer objetivo de mi Bucket List.

This is a special post. I really feel this way, and this is because through it I let you know that I have achieved the first goal of my Bucket List. It is a small achievement and although I conscientiously accept that I can improve this work a lot, it does not cease to give me great satisfaction for the fact that I have fulfilled my commitment to learn a new technique within the first three months of this new year. This is a small bear embroidered on plastic canvas. The method is very easy to learn but it takes practice and testing of materials to have beautiful and neat results. I mean, the thickness of the wool is very important to cover the spaces completely, but it should not be too thick so that it does not lose its shape.

Ésta es una publicación especial. De verdad la siento así, y esto se debe a que a través de ella les dejo saber que he logrado el primer objetivo de mi Bucket List. Es un pequeño logro y aunque concienzudamente acepto que puedo mejorar mucho este trabajo, no deja de darme una gran satisfacción por el hecho de haber cumplido con mi compromiso de aprender una técnica nueva dentro de los tres primeros meses de este nuevo año. Se trata de un pequeño oso bordado en plastic canvas. El método es muy fácil de aprender pero se requiere de práctica y prueba de materiales para tener resultados hermosos y prolijos. Es decir, el grosor de la lana es súper importante para cubrir los espacios completamente, pero no debe ser demasiado gruesa para que no pierda la forma.

For this little bear I used school yarn, also known as worsted yarn, and I also used some wine-colored yarn I had from another project I'm doing. You will notice that the part worked with wine-colored yarn, which is a little bit, was much prettier than the part worked with school yarn, which is all white. Now I share with you the list of materials and the process in detail:

Para este pequeño oso utilicé lana escolar, también conocido como estambre, y también use un poco de lana color vino que tenía de otro proyecto que estoy haciendo. Ustedes mismos podrán notar que la parte trabajada con lana color vino, que es un poco quedó mucho más bonita que la trabajada con lana escolar que es toda la parte blanca. Ahora les comparto la lista de materiales y el proceso detalladamente:

It occurred to me that it would be practical to make a pattern with the bear, using a grid leaf to define which colors to use in each space. The truth is that it was very useful. I did not see this anywhere. Maybe by logic it should be done this way, but it was a bit improvised and it helped me a lot.

Se me ocurrió que sería práctico hacer un patrón con el oso utilizado una hoja cuadriculada para definir que colores usar en cada espacio. La verdad es que fue muy útil. Esto no lo ví en ninguna parte. Quizás por lógica debe realizarse de esta manera, pero fue un poco improvisado y me ayudó bastante.

Then I worked the central part leaving head and limbs for the next part. This was also on my own initiative and using common sense, since this way it would be a bit easier. In this type of work it is necessary to pay special attention to discumulate the threads well and I saw this in a tutorial on Youtube. The needle is passed leaving a surplus of about 3 centimeters and we fill the spaces on the same excess thread, so it is not necessary to knot.

Luego trabajé la parte central dejando cabeza y extremidades para la siguiente parte. Esto también fue por iniciativa propia y usando el sentido común, ya que de esta manera sería un poco más sencillo. En este tipo de trabajos es necesario poner especial atención en discumular bien los hilos y esto si lo ví en un tutorial en Youtube. Se pasa la aguja dejando un sobrando de aproximadamente 3 centímetros y vamos rellenando los espacios sobre el mismo hilo sobrante, así que no es necesario anudar.

The spaces are covered from right to left and when we have finished covering the whole part, we pass the needle through the back of the embroidery and cut the thread so that the excess is hidden.

Se van cubriendo los espacios de derecha a izquierda y cuando hemos terminado de cubrir toda la parte, pasamos la aguja por la parte de atrás del bordado y cortamos el hilo para que de esta manera quede oculto el excedente.

This way we cover each space changing color according to the design pattern and finally we place the details like eyes and nose. I made the snout with black sewing thread. But I also realized that it is more convenient to do the details first and then embroider the head with white wool. But these are things that you learn with practice.

Así cubrimos cada espacio cambiando de color según el patrón de diseño y por último colocamos los detalles como ojos y nariz. El hocico lo realicé con hilo de coser negro. Pero también me di cuenta que es más conveniente hacer primero los detalles y luego bordar la cabeza con lana blanca. Pero estas son cosas que se van aprendiendo con la práctica.
