[ENG/ESP] Pullover with openwork stitch. /Pullover con punto calado.

Happy and blessed needlepoint Monday. There is a popular saying that fashion is what suits you. Speaking of which, vests are one of the garments that never go out of fashion and if we know how to use them, they will always be an ally when it comes to putting together an outfit. Now that I'm learning how to put together some garments that are not so demanding, I thought I should add one to my closet.

Hablando de ello, los chalecos son una de las prendas de vestir que nunca pasan de moda y que que si sabemos cómo usarlos siempre serán un aliando a la hora de armar un outfit. Ahora que estoy aprendiendo a armar algunas prendas de vestir que estén en un nivel de elaboración no tan exigente, pensé en que debía añadir uno a mi closet.

I've been working on this vest for almost two weeks, but last week my phone was stolen and I didn't want to go any further because I wouldn't have a record of the step-by-step photos. As soon as I was able to buy a new phone I immediately resumed my work, that's why I haven't been seen here for several days.

Estuve trabajando en éste chaleco casi dos semanas, pero la semana pasada me robaron el teléfono y no quise seguir avanzando pues no tendría registro de las fotos del paso a paso. Apenas pude comprar un nuevo teléfono retomé de inmediato mi trabajo, es por esta razón que no me han visto en varios días por acá.

Returning to the subject of the theft of the phone, it was in a robbery on a bus and it was something violent. Retomando el tema del robo del teléfono, fue en un atraco a un autobús y fue algo violento. Sentir el arrebato de algo de tu propiedad en medio de cuadro violento con armas de fuego y cuchillos es algo que produce cierto trauma y frustración, sin embargo, después del susto y agradecer al Creador porque no haya pasado nada más grave, queda el lidiar con toda la información perdida y restituirlo todo.

I finished my vest and the feeling of achievement is unmatched, it is the second garment that I finish and it makes me happy because finding clothes that I like and fit well to my body has always been a little difficult, but now I see the light.

Terminé mi chaleco y la sensación de logro es inigualable, es la segunda prenda que termino y si que me hace feliz pues encontrar prendas que me gusten y se ajusten bien a mi cuerpo siempre me ha resultado un poco difícil, pero ahora veo la luz.

The vest is simple, I worked it in two pieces; a front and the back. All in an openwork stitch and with a spring base that I made starting from a chain of 13 stitches and knitting single crochet slipping the needle only on the back of each chain stitch. This is one of the pictures I lost since it is the beginning of this piece. The spring is approximately 48 centimeters long.

El chaleco es simple, lo trabaje en dos piezas; una frontal y la espalda. Todo en un punto calado y con una base resorte que hice pariendo de una cadena de 13 puntos y tejiendo puntos bajos deslizando la aguja solo por la parte de atrás de cada punto cadena. Esta es una de los fotos que perdí ya que el el principio de esta pieza. El resorte mide aproximadamente 48 centímetros de largo.

Over the spring we knit a medium high stitch separated by a chain stitch, then we leave two rows of the spring in the same stitch we knit two medium high stitches separated by a chain stitch. The pattern is repeated along the spring, completing 38 motifs.

Sobre el resorte tejemos un punto medio alto separado de un punto cadena, luego dejamos dos hileras del resorte en en un mismo punto tejemos dos puntos medio alto separados por un punto cadena. Se repite el patrón a lo largo del resorte completando 38 motivos.

When we get to the bust part, we place the middle of the fabric and once marked, we knit 7 rows with decrease on both sides, this allows us to form the armhole and the V-neck. First we knit one part and then the other. To make the shoulder straps, we knit straight. There are 18 rows with seven motifs per row. We knit the same on the other side.

Al llegar a la parte del busto, se ubica la mitad del tejido y una vez marcado, se realizan 7 vueltas con disminución a ambos lados, esto nos permite formar la sisa y el cuello en V. Primero se teje una parte y luego la otra. Para hacer los tirantes, tejemos en forma recta. Son 18 vueltas con siete motivos por vuelta. Tejemos igual del otro lado.

To make the back, we make a spring of the same size as the front and we knit the same 38 motifs until we reach the armhole height. We knit 7 rounds with decreases on the sides in a continuous way since we don't need to leave the space of the V of the neck. After the 7 rounds we knit in a straight line until we reach the same size as the front.

Para hacer la espalda, realizamos un resorte del mismo tamaño que el frontal y tejemos los mismos 38 motivos hasta llegar a la altura de la sisa Tejemos 7 vueltas con disminuciones a los costados de forma continua ya que no necesitamos dejar el espacio de la V del cuello. Después de las 7 vueltas tejemos en línea recta hasta llegar al mismo tamaño de la parte frontal.

We face the purl and sew the shoulders and the sides together. To finish the edges we knit the neck and the armhole. This vest would look great with a white collared shirt that by the way I don't have it, but I will get it and it will be a nice combination. I say goodbye and wish you a blessed Monday of needles.

Confrontamos los revés y cosenos la parte de los hombros y los laterales. Para acabar los bordes tejemos puntos bajos en el cuello y la sisa. Este chaleco quedaría muy bien con una camisa blanca de cuello que por cierto no la tengo, pero ya la conseguiré y será una bonita combinación. Me despido y les deseo un bendecido lunes de agujas.
