Turtle keychain embroidered with sequins and rhinestones.	Llavero tortuga bordada con lentejuelas y pedrería.
Inspiration is everywhere. If we look around us in detail, we don't need to look far to activate our creativity. A small flower, a bird, a butterfly and fascinating insects like beetles can inspire us and from their beautiful colors and shapes we can make a beautiful creative piece.	Hay inspiración en todas partes. Si miramos un poco a nuestro alrededor de manera detallada, no necesitamos buscar demasiado para activar nuestra creatividad. Una pequeña flor, un pájaro, una mariposa y fascinantes insectos como los escarabajos nos pueden inspirar y a partir de sus hermosos colores y formas realizar una hermosa pieza creativa.


This time I took inspiration from a small turtle to make a keychain and although I was a little intimidated by sequins because it is a material I have not used before, I encouraged myself to use them because I also like to learn, and try new things despite how intimidated I may feel.	En esta ocasión tomé inspiración de una pequeña tortuga para hacer un llavero y aunque me sentía un poco intimidada por las lentejuelas debido a que es un material que no he usado antes, me animé a utilizarlas porque también me gusta aprender, y probar cosas nuevas a pesar de lo intimidada que pueda sentirme.


I will not share a list of materials because basically it is about using any type of rhinestones, sequins and beads that we have and what is important is that the colors match and that it gives the impression that it is intentional chaos of textures and colors. For this reason I used almost the same range of colors between greens, blues and just a bit of yellow to give it some color but without going out of the palette. I also included white and brown which are neutral colors. I hope I explained myself well. Por esta razón utilicé casi la misma gama de colores entre verdes, azules y solo un poco de amarillo para darle algo de color pero sin salirme de la paleta. También incluí blanco y marrón que son colores neutrales. Espero haberme explicado bien.

No les compartiré una lista de materiales porque básicamente se trata de utilizar cualquier tipo de pedrería, lentejuelas y mostacillas que dispongamos y lo que si es importante es que los colores combinen y que de la impresión de que es caos intencional de texturas y colores. Por esta razón utilicé casi la misma gama de colores entre verdes, azules y solo un poco de amarillo para darle algo de color pero sin salirme de la paleta. También incluí blanco y marrón que son colores neutrales. Espero haberme explicado bien.


The elaboration of this piece is a bit long, so I will summarize concisely. The first thing to do is to make a pattern and transfer it to a piece of felt or fabric for embroidery. It is important to copy all the details. With a marker I applied green color since my felt is white. But the ideal would be to work with a felt or fabric in the same tone as the rest of the material.	La elaboración de esta pieza es un poco larga, así que voy a resumir de manera concisa. Lo primero que hay que realizar es un patrón y transferirlo a un trozo de fieltro o tela para bordar. Es importante copiar todos los detalles. Con un marcador apliqué color verde ya que mi fieltro es blanco. Pero lo ideal sería trabajar con un fieltro o tela en el mismo tono del resto del material.


We worked on a square piece of fabric and with a needle and thread we applied beads on all the edges and internal separation lines. Once the spaces are delimited we proceed to apply sequins, beads, beads and any stone that we like, in this work I applied some green glass beads and some golden pearls in the central part that stand out from the rest and serve as a focus. I really liked that effect.	Trabajamos en un trozo de tela cuadrada y con aguja el hilo aplicamos mostacillas en todos los bordes y líneas de separación internas. Una vez delimitados los espacios procedemos a aplicar lentejuelas, mostacillas, mostacillones y cualquier piedra que nos guste, en este trabajo apliqué unas cuentas de vidrio verde y unas perlas doradas en la parte central que se destacan del resto y sirven de foco. Me gustó mucho ese efecto.

Trabajamos en un trozo de tela cuadrada y con aguja el hilo aplicamos mostacillas en todos los bordes y líneas de separación internas. Una vez delimitados los espacios procedemos a aplicar lentejuelas, mostacillas, mostacillones y cualquier piedra que nos guste, en este trabajo apliqué unas cuentas de vidrio verde y unas perlas doradas en la parte central que se destacan del resto y sirven de foco. A fact I want to share with you is that the beads are sewn four by four and we sew a reverse stitch right in the middle of the four beads so that they are fixed to the felt and we also get them to be more aligned than when they are sewn one at a time. In the case of the sequins, they are sewn by passing the needle and thread through the hole and at the same time they are attached to the felt and sewn together so that they have the effect of being in a vertical position.	Un dato que les quiero compartir es que las mostacillas se cosen de cuatro en cuatro y damos una puntada en justo en medio de las cuatro mostacillas para que queden fijas al fieltro y también conseguimos que queden más alineadas que cuando se cosen de una a la vez. En el caso de las lentejuelas se cosen pasando la aguja e hilo por el orificio y de una vez se sujetan al fieltro y se cosen todas bien juntas para que tengan el efecto de estar en posición vertical.

Un dato que les quiero compartir es que las mostacillas se cosen de cuatro en cuatro y damos una puntada en justo en medio de las cuatro mostacillas para que queden fijas al fieltro y también conseguimos que queden más alineadas que cuando se cosen de una a la vez. En el caso de las lentejuelas se cosen pasando la aguja e hilo por el orificio y de una vez se sujetan al fieltro y se cosen todas bien juntas para que tengan el efecto de estar en posición vertical.


For the eyes I applied two green beads on each side of the head, which I covered completely with white beads to give more volume. Once we have covered the entire piece, we cut it flush following the line of the pattern. We place the piece on another piece of white felt and cut out the silhouette of the turtle; we sew it and at the same time we place white beads to finish off the edges. We leave a small space in the head where we pass the chain to place the ring of the keychain and through a small opening we place some synthetic cotton stuffing. We finish closing and finishing with beads.	Para los ojos aplique dos mostacillones verdes a cada lado de la cabeza que la cubrí totalmente de mostacillas blancas súper puestas para dar más volumen. Una vez que hemos cubierto toda la pieza, recortamos al ras siguiendo la línea del patrón. Colocamos la pieza sobre otro trozo de fieltro blanco y cortamos la silueta de la tortuga; la cosemos y al mismo tiempo vamos colocando mostacillas blancas para rematar los bordes. Dejamos un pequeño espacio en la cabeza por dónde pasamos la cadena para colocar el aro del llavero y por una pequeña abertura colocamos un poco de relleno de algodón sintético. Terminamos de cerrar y rematar con mostacillas.

Para los ojos aplique dos mostacillones verdes a cada lado de la cabeza que la cubrí totalmente de mostacillas blancas súper puestas para dar más volumen. Una vez que hemos cubierto toda la pieza, recortamos al ras siguiendo la línea del patrón. Colocamos la pieza sobre otro trozo de fieltro blanco y cortamos la silueta de la tortuga; la cosemos y al mismo tiempo vamos colocando mostacillas blancas para rematar los bordes. Dejamos un pequeño espacio en la cabeza por dónde pasamos la cadena para colocar el aro del llavero y por una pequeña abertura colocamos un poco de relleno de algodón sintético. Terminamos de cerrar y rematar con mostacillas.


My beautiful turtle is ready. I like to hold it in my hands because you can feel many textures, it is really nice. I felt very satisfied with this work and it was not as traumatic as I imagined because it is a lot of material to sew, what irritated me a little during the process is that many of the beads did not pass through the needle and I had to reinsert them one by one to discard the ones that did not pass, this delayed me. It was a long work, but when you see the final result you forget all the hours invested and you just have to smile that particular smile that says: I did it. Me gusta tenerla entre las manos porque se sienten muchas texturas, es realmente agradable. Me sentí muy satisfecha con este trabajo y no fue tan traumático como lo imaginaba porque es mucho material para coser, lo que si me irritaba un poco durante el proceso es que muchas de las mostacillas no pasaban por la aguja y tenía que volver a introducirlas una por una para descartar las que no pasaban, esto me retrasaba. Fue un largo trabajo, pero cuando se ve el resultado final ya uno se olvida de todas las horas invertidas y solo nos queda esbozar esa particular sonrisa que dice: Lo logré.
