( EN / DE ) My bucket hat succeeded after all! The first attempt was unfortunately a bit off, although I'm still totally happy with the little basket.
But now my first self-crocheted bucket hat is finished and probably it will not be the last, because I already have an order from the relatives for such a model ;-)
Mein Bucket Hut ist nun doch noch gelungen! Der erste Versuch ging ja leider etwas daneben, wobei ich nach wie vor total happy mit dem kleinen Korb bin.
Jetzt ist mein erster selbst gehäkelter Bucket Hut aber fertig und wahrscheinlich wird es nicht der letzte sein, denn ich habe schon eine Bestellung aus der Verwandtschaft für so ein Modell ;-)
The special thing about the instructions I had found is that you make part of the hat shorter in the front than in the back. Okay, that is (just like the brim) not quite original Bucket, but finer to wear.
The other peculiarity is that in each round the direction is changed, except at the end at the brim, there it goes only in one direction.
Das besondere an der Anleitung, die ich gefunden hatte ist, dass man einen Teil des Hutes vorne kürzer als hinten macht. Okay, das ist (genau so wie die Krempe) nicht ganz original Bucket, aber dafür feiner zu tragen.
Die andere Besonderheit ist, dass bei jeder Runde die Richtung gewechselt wird, außer am Ende bei der Krempe, da geht es nur noch in eine Richtung.
Starting with a magic ring, you start with 10 single crochet, then increase each round:
1st round in each stitch 2 single crochet.
2nd round in every 2nd stitch 2 single crochet
3rd round in every 3rd stitch 2 single crochet
And so on until you reach the width of the hat.
Beginnend mit einem magischen Ring startet man mit 10 festen Maschen, danach wird jede Runde zugenommen:

Und so weiter, bis man die Breite des Hutes erreicht hat.
Calculate exactly how wide you want the hat to be, otherwise you'll have a too small result like I did last week and you'll either have to unravel or crochet a small basket as well ;-) the formula therefore is:
diameter x 3,14 (the number PI) = circumference
As you can see, the hat is already starting to bulge, this is quite normal:

Wie ihr seht beginnt sich der Hut nun schon zu wölben, das ist ganz normal:
I compared the width to my baseball hat again just to be sure, before continuing with the normal rounds without increase:
1 round single crochet
3 rounds of half double crochet
then start the rounds with the different height:

In the original instruction the hat had 70 stitches in circumference and 26 of them were half double crochets.
My hat has 100 stitches, which means 36 half double crochets
These rows remain the same until you reach the height of the hat.
In der original Anleitung hatte der Hut 70 Maschen Umfang und davon 26 Halbe Stäbchen
Mein Hut hat 100 Maschen, umgerechnet also 36 Halbe Stäbchen
Diese Reihen bleiben gleich, bis man die Höhe des Hutes erreicht hat.
Now come 2 rows of solid stitches before you start with the brim.
Increasing pattern of the brim:
1st round in every 5th stitch 2 single crochet .
2nd round without increase in normal single crochet .
3rd round in every 6th stitch single crochet
4th round without increase in normal way single crochet
5th round in every 7th stitch...
And so on, until you reach the desired brim width, which can be a bit larger than in my hat, if you want.
Nun kommen 2 Reihen Feste Maschen bevor man mit der Krempe beginnt.
Zunehmschema der Krempe:
Runde 1 in jede 5. Masche 2 Feste Maschen
Runde 2 ohne Zunahme ganz normal Feste Maschen
Runde 3 in jede 6. Masche Feste Maschen
Runde 4 ohne Znahme ganz normal Feste Maschen
Runde 5 in jede 7. Masche...
Und so weiter, bis man die gewünschte Krempen Breite erreicht, die kann durchaus noch etwas größer werden als bei meinem Hut, wenn ihr das wollt.

Auf dem oberen Foto hier seht ihr auch sehr schön, die unterschiedlichen Stäbchen Höhen vorne und hinten. Zuletzt noch die Fäden auf der Innenseite vernähen und fertig ist der Bucket Hut :-)
