We're now in the hottest season here on the coast, and that's why I've been sewing several tops in Heavy micro-peach fabric, which has become one of my favorites for its softness and breathability. The top has a youthful design, and I added adjustable straps that I bought at the fabric store. I loved them the moment I saw them, and I think they're perfect for tops. The back has a heart-shaped zipper. These tops are ideal for everyday wear and for women who exercise. I used the buttonhole technique for this project, and I added black bias tape with a small blackberry pattern to the hem. I invite you to join me in the sewing process.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas deseo que tengan una feliz y bendecida semana, que el nuevo mes venga cargado de grandes bendiciones para cada hogar, me siento feliz de compartir un nuevo proyecto de costura, ya estamos en la temporada de mayor calor, en la zona costera y por ello he estado cosiendo varios top en tela microdurazno Heavy, que se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas por su suavidad y frescura, el top tiene un diseño juvenil y le coloqué tirantes ajustables que venden en la tienda de tela desde que los vi me gustaron y me parecen perfectos para los top, en el posterior traen una corredera de corazón; estos top son ideales para usar a diario y las chicas que realizan ejercicios, en su elaboración utilicé la técnica del embonado y en el bajo le coloqué sesgo de moritas en color negro, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

The first step in making the top was cutting the pieces. Since I'm using the joinery technique, I cut two pieces for the front and two pieces for the back. All the pieces are pink.
This sewing technique is one of my favorites because of the neat result, with the seams hidden.

El primer paso para la elaboración del top, fue cortar las piezas, como voy a usar la técnica del embonado se cortan dos piezas del delantero y dos piezas del posterior, todas las piezas son en color rosa.

The next step was to cut four 6-centimeter-long strips of bias tape. I folded them and pinned them; these would be the base for the straps. I placed them on the shoulders and back, right sides together.
El siguiente paso paso, fue cortar cuatro tiras de sesgo de 6 centímetros de largo, doblé y fijé con alfileres, éstas serán la base para los tirantes, la coloqué en los hombros y posterior enfrentando con el derecho de la tela.
After attaching the strap supports, I placed the front and back pieces right sides together, pinned them for easier sewing, used a straight stitch, and closed the armholes, neck, and shoulders on both sides, leaving the sides and hem open.
Luego de colocar los soportes de de los tirantes enfrenté las piezas delanteras y traseras por el derecho, sujeté con alfileres para coser más cómoda, usé puntada recta y cerré las sisas y cuello y hombros en ambas partes, dejando abiertos los costados y bajo.
After sewing the front and back pieces, I turned the piece right side out and aligned the sides so that the armhole seams matched, pinned it in place, and sewed with a straight stitch.
Once the sides were closed, the next step was to measure the bottom circumference (78 - 10 = 68 centimeters of bias tape) to determine the amount of bias tape needed. Since the bias tape has a mullet pattern, I placed it with the right side of the bias tape facing the right side of the fabric. This way, when turned over, the soft side of the bias tape faces down and is in contact with the skin. I sewed with a decorative stitch, stretching one (1) centimeter of bias tape every five (5) centimeters.
Cosidas las piezas delantera y posterior volteé la pieza por el derecho y enfrenté los costados, de tal forma que coincidan las costuras de la sisa, fijé con alfileres y cosí con puntada recta.
Cerrados los costados, lo siguiente fue medir el contorno de bajo (78 - 10 = 68 centímetros de sesgo) para saber la cantidad de sesgo necesaria, como el sesgo es de moritas lo coloqué enfrentando el derecho del sesgo con el derecho de la tela, así al voltear queda la parte suave del sesgo hacia abajo y en contacto con la piel, cosí con puntada decorativa estirando un (1) centímetro de sesgo cada cinco (5) centímetros.
Then I turned the bias tape inside out, making sure the blackberries were facing outwards and sewed it using decorative stitch again. With these simple steps, a beautiful pink top with adjustable straps is ready.
Luego volteé el sesgo por el revés, verificando que las moritas queden hacia afuera y cosí usando nuevamente puntada decorativa, con estos sencillos pasos está listo un hermoso top rosa con tirantes ajustables.
The adjustable straps look great and the heart-shaped zipper gives the top a youthful style; I hope you find the tutorial useful.
