I'm happy to share a new sewing project: a men's boxer short using rib knit fabric, which has become one of my favorites for sewing different types of garments such as flannel, pajamas, boxer shorts for children and adults, sports tops, and more. I like this fabric for its texture, stretch, and thickness. It's also a soft and cool fabric, ideal for warm climates. The boxer shorts are burgundy and black; the back is black, and the front combines burgundy and black. The center panel or gusset is black, and the sides are burgundy. The elastic I used is blue and white; I've used it several times because it's the right thickness for the garment, and it's also soft and easy to sew. Its design, with several blue lines and a white background, makes it simple yet elegant. I invite you to join me in the process of making it.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, es un placer saludarles, deseando que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana en unión de sus seres queridos, me siento feliz de compartir un nuevo proyecto de costura, se trata de un bóxer para caballero, utilizando tela rib, la cual se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas, para coser diferentes tipos de prendas como; Franela, pijamas, bóxer para niños y adultos, top deportivo, entre otros, me gusta esta tela por su textura, elongación y el grosor, además es una tela suave y fresca, ideal para los climas cálidos; el bóxer es de color vino y negro, en la parte trasera es de color negro y en la parte delantera combina vino y y negro, la pieza central o refuerzo es de color negro y a los costados de color vino, el elástico que utilicé, es de color azul con blanco, lo he usado en varias ocasiones pues tiene el grosor adecuado para la prenda, además es suave y fácil de coser, su diseño con varias líneas azules y el fondo blanco, lo hacen sencillo pero elegante, les invito y me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

The first step was to mark and cut the pieces: front, back, center (from this, four pieces are cut to fit together), and leg side.
Once the pieces were cut, I placed the right sides of the front pieces together and sewed them at the center. When joining these pieces, it's important to make sure the seam line aligns, as this forms the U-shaped opening where the reinforcement will be attached. There should also be an arched line at the bottom center and back to join the legs to the back.

El primer paso fue marcar y cortar las piezas; delantero, posterior, centro ( de este se cortan cuatro piezas para embonar) y costado de pierna.
Cortadas las piezas enfrenté los derechos de la parte delantera y uní en el centro, al unir estas piezas, es importante verificar que coincidan en la línea de costura, pues ellas forman el orificio en forma de U, en el cual se pegará el refuerzo, también debe quedar una línea arqueada en la parte inferior central y la parte posterior, para ensamblar la piernas con la parte trasera.
I placed the center pieces right sides together, pinned them, and sewed along the curved edge.
Las piezas del centro las enfrenté por el derecho, fijé con alfileres y cosí por la parte curva.
In the U-shaped opening, with right sides together, I sewed the center pieces, joining them on both sides to create a sort of pouch. This allows the seams to be hidden and gives a neater finish. I sewed along the edges and then turned the piece out from the top.
En la abertura con forma de U, enfrentando los derechos cosí las piezas centrales, uniéndolas a ambos lados y haciendo una especie de bolsa, esto permite que las costuras queden ocultas y con un mejor acabado, cosí por los bordes y luego saqué la pieza por la parte de arriba.
Once the front part was assembled, the next step was to join the back and the leg sides, right sides together, then I sewed with a straight stitch and in this way the back of the boxer shorts is assembled.
Ensamblada la parte delantera, el siguiente paso fue unir el trasero y los costados de pierna, enfrentando los derechos, luego cosí con puntada recta y de esta forma está armado el posterior del bóxer.
Then I placed the front and back pieces right sides together, pinned them, closed the sides and crotch, and sewed a hem of approximately 0.5 centimeters on the legs. At this point, all that remains is to attach the elastic.
Luego enfrenté delantero y posterior por el derecho, sujeté con alfileres, cerré los costados y la entrepierna, además cosí un dobladillo de aproximadamente 0.5 centímetros en las piernas, hasta aquí, solo resta pegar el elástico.
Next, I measured the waist circumference of the boxer shorts and subtracted 10 centimeters. The waist circumference is 85 centimeters, so subtracting 10 leaves 75 centimeters. With this measurement, I cut the elastic and joined it at the ends. I passed several stitches to reinforce it and joined the excess ends to the elastic, also passing several stitches. This way, it is stronger and does not break when the elastic is continuously stretched.
To make attaching the elastic easier, I divided it into four parts and secured it with pins; this makes it easier to sew and stretch the elastic.
Seguidamente medí el contorno de cintura del bóxer y le resté 10 centímetros, el contorno de cintura es de 85 centímetros, al restarle 10 quedan 75 centímetros, con esta medida corté el elástico y lo uní en los extremos, pasé varias puntadas para repisar y los extremos sobrantes los uní al elástico, pasando también varias costuras, de esta forma queda más fuerte y no se rompe al estirar continuamente el elástico.
Para pegar el elástico con mayor facilidad, lo dividí en cuatro partes y lo fijé con alfileres, así es más sencillo coser y estirar el elástico.
The last step was to attach the elastic, with the wrong side of the fabric facing the right side of the elastic, I sewed with a straight stitch stretching 1 centimeter every 4 centimeters, then I turned it right side out and passed a zigzag stitch; with these simple steps a two-tone boxer for men is finished.
El último paso fue pegar el elástico, enfrente revés de la tela con derecho del elástico cosí con puntada recta estirando 1 centímetro cada 4 centímetros, luego volteé por el derecho y pasé puntada de zigzag; con estos sencillos pasos está terminado un bóxer bicolor para caballero.
