Continuing with the creation of t-shirts for my family and taking advantage of several leftover fabrics I had at home, today I'm sharing my latest project. It's a youthful t-shirt that combines two fabrics: blue peach microfiber and a printed peach microfiber with a TikTok motif. The design is simple: the top part is made of printed fabric, and the back has a royal blue stripe that matches the blue border of the circle where the name of this popular social network is displayed. When cutting the front and back pieces, I didn't realize that the fabrics were the same length. The front piece, due to the extended neckline, requires more fabric. The idea was for the blue stripes to be the same width, but because I didn't check, the front ended up shorter. Since I didn't have any more printed fabric, I cut the blue stripes, pinned them right sides together, and sewed them with a straight stitch. I also made the collar and cuffs blue. Continuando con la elaboración de franelas para mi familia y aprovechando varios sobrantes de tela que tenía en casa, hoy les comparto el último proyecto, se trata de una franelilla juvenil, que combina dos telas; micro durazno azul y micro durazno estampada con motivo de TikTok, el diseño es sencillo, la parte de arriba con tela estampada y la restante con una franja azul rey que combina con el borde azul del círculo donde se lee el nombre de esta conocida red social; al momento de cortar la parte delantera y posterior, no me di cuenta que las telas tenían el mismo largo, la parte delantera, por la extensión del cuello requiere más tela, la idea era que las franjas azul fueran del mismo ancho, pero por no verificar, la parte delantera quedó más corta, al no tener más tela estampada, corté las franjas azules, sujeté con alfileres, enfrentando los derechos y uní con puntada recta, el cuello y los puños también los hice de color azul, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

After sewing the excess fabric to obtain the length of the flannel, I folded the fabric, right sides together, placed the patterns and with the help of chalk marked the front and back. When cutting, I pinned it in place; this trick is useful because it prevents the fabric from moving. I also cut three rectangles for the collar and cuffs.

The next step, was to place the pieces right sides together, pin them at the top, and close the shoulders using a straight stitch and double stitching.
With the shoulders closed, I pinned and sewed the sides. Since it was a sleeveless flannel, the sides were closed. To measure the cuffs, I also added a double seam for reinforcement, then removed the excess fabric.

This stitching gives firmness and shape to the piece, and is also very helpful when sewing it to the flannel.
Para hacer el cuello y los puños, enfrenté los rectángulos por el derecho, uní en los extremos con puntada recta, luego volteé dejando la costura hacia adentro, doblé y pasé puntada de zigzag por los bordes, esta costura le da firmeza y forma a la pieza, además es de gran ayuda al momento de unirla a la franela.
The last step is to attach the cuffs, collar, and hem. To attach the collar and cuffs, I divided them into four parts and pinned them to the collar and sleeves. I joined them using a straight stitch, stretching from one point to the other, and then sewed a zigzag stitch around the entire edge.
After attaching the cuffs and collar, I sewed a hem approximately two centimeters wide, which is the bottom edge. For this, I used a straight stitch. With these few simple steps, a beautiful and cool flannel shirt with a patterned fabric on top and a solid-color stripe on the bottom is finished.
El útimo paso es pegar los puños cuello y el ruedo, para pegar el cuello y los puños los dividí en cuatro partes, fijé con alfileres, al cuello y mangas; los uní usando puntada recta y estirando desde un punto al otro, luego pasé puntada de zigzag por todo el contorno.
Luego de pegar los puños y cuello cosí coser un dobladillo de aproximadamente dos centímetros de ancho que es el ruedo, para ello utilicé puntada recta; con estos sencillos y pocos pasos está terminada una hermosa y fresca franelilla, con tela estampada en la parte de arriba y una franja unicolor en la parte inferior.
