This time, I'm sharing another sewing project I completed during my son's school holidays. It's a youth flannel shirt with blue cuffs to match the collar. The fabric I used is, once again, peach micro-blend with a Nike print. It's one of my family's favorite fabrics because of its coolness and softness. I invite you to join me in the sewing process.

En esta ocasión comparto la elaboración de otro trabajo de costura que elaboré en el período de vacaciones escolares de mi hijo, se trata de una franela juvenil con puños azules a tono con el cuello, la tela que usé es nuevamente microdurazno, con estampado de Nike, es una de las telas favoritas de mi familia por su frescura y suavidad, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

The first step in making the flannel shirt was cutting out the pieces: front, back sleeves, cuffs, and collar. The collar and cuffs are blue, made of ribbed fabric.

El primer paso para la elaboración de la franela, fue cortar las piezas; delantero, mangas posterior, puños y cuello. El cuello y los puños son de color azul, en tela rib.
Once the pieces were cut, the next step was to place the front and back pieces right sides together. I pinned them and closed the shoulders using a straight stitch.
Cortadas las piezas, el siguiente paso fue enfrentar por el derecho, delantero y posterior, fijé con alfileres y cerré los hombros, utilizando puntada recta.
With the shoulders closed, I proceeded to attach the sleeves. I placed the fabric right sides together, starting at the armhole and working my way around the entire sleeve. I pinned them and sewed them with a straight stitch. For added reinforcement, I used a double stitch. I learned this technique in the course, and it worked very well.
Con los hombros cerados, avancé pegando las mangas, enfrenté las telas por el derecho, iniciando desde la sisa, hasta cubrir todo el contorno, fijé con alfileres y cosí con puntada recta, para reforzar pasé doble costura, esta técnica la aprendí en el curso y me funcionado muy bien.
Once the sleeves were attached, I pinned them and closed the sides, starting from the sleeve down. At this stage, it's important that the seams of the sleeves and the armhole match, to give shape and achieve a better finish. I also used double stitching for reinforcement.
Pegadas las mangas, fijé con alfileres y cerré los laterales, iniciando desde la manga hacia abajo, en este paso es importante que las costuras de las mangas y la sisa coincidan, para dar forma y lograr un mejor acabado, también pasé doble costura, para reforzar.
Next, I made the collar. I measured the circumference and subtracted 10 centimeters, then cut a rectangle 40 by 6.5 centimeters. I placed the ribbon right sides together and joined the ends, then turned it inside out so the seam was on the inside, folded it over, and pinned it. I made the cuffs following the same steps as the collar, except the ribbon was smaller.
Lo siguiente fue hacer el cuello, medí el contorno y le resté 10 centímetros, luego y corté un rectángulo de 40 por 6,5 centímetros, enfrenté la cinta por los derechos y uní en los extremos, luego volteé, de tal forma que la costura quede hacia adentro, doblé y sujeté con alfileres. Los puños, los hice siguiendo los pasos de la elaboración del cuello, con la diferencia que la cinta es más pequeña.
To attach the collar, I divided it into two parts and pinned them together. I sewed it using a straight stitch, then went over it with a zigzag stitch.
I also attached the sleeve cuffs in the same way I did with the collar.
The last step was to sew a hem approximately two centimeters wide. I also used a straight stitch for this step. With these simple steps, a beautiful and comfortable flannel shirt with a Nike design is finished.
Para pegar el cuello, lo dividí en dos partes y lo fijé a con alfileres, lo pegué utilizando puntada recta, luego repisé con puntada de zigzag.

The flannel looks great, the blue cuffs give it a youthful and casual style.
La franela, se ve muy bien, los puños azules le dan estilo juvenil y casual.
