Good afternoon, friends of Hive and the NeedleworkMonday community! Today I'll be showing you how I sewed a pair of Bermuda shorts, a sporty style. I used fabric I bought at El Castillo, and it's a lightweight fabric that dries instantly after washing and is also breathable, making it an ideal garment for the hot days we're having here in Venezuela. Sometimes you just want to wear something light and airy, and since clothes here can be worn in two ways, these Bermuda shorts can be for sports, the beach, or even everyday wear at home. Without a doubt, this is a very versatile garment. I hope you'll stop by and stay to see the process and every detail, and don't miss the final result! Let's move on to the materials I used:

I used a pair of my son's Bermuda shorts, which are one size fits all, as a measurement. Then I folded them in half, and did the same with the fabric. With the white color, I marked the shape of the Bermuda shorts. Once I had that part ready, I used the same measurement to make the sides of the Bermuda shorts, which have details and embellishments. In addition, it also has pockets.

Now I started to make the decorated detail on the sides, so for that I used the wool yarn and the white fabric, then I cut several strips of the white fabric, which will be bias strips, and I cut the same measurement of wool yarn and sewed the white bias strips onto the wool yarn.

Then I sewed each side to the part where the pocket begins, that is, the back and front of the shorts. And so I continued sewing the rest of the shorts, leaving the crotch area unsewn. This is how it's looking.

Then I sewed the crotch area, and continued sewing the waistband with the elastic. I used a straight stitch for this part and to ensure the elastic wouldn't come loose, I sewed a zigzag stitch.

As a final touch and finishing touch, I sewed a cista that says puma on one side of the bermuda shorts, and I also sewed the hem.
