Hello fellow sewing enthusiasts! Greetings to all of you. Today I want to show you how I made a pencil case with an elongated design. It's perfect for storing rulers and paintbrushes, as its size makes it ideal for these types of materials. Once again, I used scraps from my work overalls, and I had quite a few leftover pieces. The materials I used were the following:
(Materiales:)||(Materials:)
- Una braga de obrero
- Tijera
- Máquina de coser
- Alfileres
- Cierre de color verde
- A pair of work overalls
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Pins
- Green zipper

Luego tome uno de los rectángulos que será la parte de adelante y le corte un pedazo de aproximadamente unos 3 cm,ya que allí voy a colocar el cierre de modo que el cierre quede de frente.
Paso nro 1
I started by cutting a rectangular piece of fabric. I used a ruler to measure it, but added extra centimeters to make it the right size. Once I had the rectangle clearly marked, I cut it in half, forming two rectangles.Then I took one of the rectangles, which would be the front, and cut off a piece about 3 cm wide, since that's where I'm going to place the zipper so that it's facing forward.

Then I proceeded to sew the zipper. To do this, I pinned it in place, positioned it facing the fabric, and sewed it with a straight stitch. After I had finished sewing, I sewed over the edge between the zipper and the fabric, and then sewed the other end of the zipper in the same way.

Once I had the zipper sewn on the front of the pencil case, I moved on to sewing the other side of the pencil case. I placed both sides of the pencil case right sides together and pinned them, and sewed it. But before sewing, I left the zipper half open so that I could turn the pencil case right side out later.

Once everything was sewn, I turned the pencil case right side out, carefully adjusting its shape and checking how it looked at the end of this project. And that's it! It was quick and easy to make.

And see how we can continue making new, practical things that can be useful to us. After I finished making this long pencil case, I realized that you can also store brushes, a hair straightener, or even cables in it. I hope you liked the idea... I'm saying goodbye to you, lovely group, sending you a warm hug... 🤗
