Sometimes ago, i made a gown outfit for my neighbor and when her friend sew it, she asked who made it for her and I was introduced to her, few days later, she brought this fabric and asked that i should make a stylish gown for her with it, we searched through Pinterest and she fell in love with this particular style and asked if the fabric would be enough which would be, immediately, I took her bodice measurement and and started with the cutting and sewing process.
To start with, I cut out the upper bodice which was a basic block pattern for the front and back with zipper allowance and lining to turn it inside out for neat finishing.
The upper bodice were sewn with the lining which was used to turn it inside out before it was sewn together with the side seam allowance and set aside.
The gown was in three parts, from the shoulder to waistline, from waistline to knee length and from knee length to the full length. After making the upper bodice, I cut out the front and back from the waistline to knee length measurement with zipper allowance at the back, the I also cut out lining to turn it inside out as well.
It was taken to the sewing machine and i sew it with the lining for neat finishing
The two pieces for the back were sewn together leaving an opening for the zipper allowance.
Then the last part of the full length was made with a long piece which was cut out and gathered together to the round knee measurement
For the sleeves, I cut out a basic sleeves with some added inches to make a puff sleeve
The hem was folded in and sewn to make a loop where I inserted an elastic band to gather it together
All the parts were sewn together to make a complete outfit, the upper bodice was sewn to the waistline to knee length piece and the ruffle was sewn to the knee line.
I made an extra ruffle which was sewn slantly fron the waistline to the knee line and finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and I have a complete outfit.
This is the final outcome, my neighbor's friend was so glad with the beautiful outcome and she promised to bring more of her fabrics for me to make beautiful outfit for her.
