Hello everyone

Happy Monday and a lovely day to you all in this great community I hope you are all doing great, it is another week for us all to share our beautiful creativity and I'm here to share with you the how to make a beautiful outfit with the combination of two fabrics.

Today, I will be sharing only the pleated back slit of the outfit since it's the major part and for better explanations also to avoid too lengthy post, the other part will be shared in my subsequent post I hope you will like the beautiful outcome and want to try it out on your own. I have been making this type of pleated back slit on different outfits with same fabric but the uniqueness of this is the combination of two different fabrics to bring out the beauty of it.
join me as I share with you the step by step process below
Using the African print fabric, I folded it in two to cut the front part of the gown from the waistline to the full length using the waist, hip and full length measurements with the necessary ease and seam allowance

I proceeded to fold the fabric in two to cut out the back of the gown by placing the front part on the folded fabric, the back was cut out with 1.5" zipper allowance

The front has another layer for the wrap just in form of a wrapper which will be tied at the back. For the wrapper, I placed the front part on a single fabric and cut out same shape at the side with a slant at the other side just to make it stylish

All these were placed on a matching color lining to cut out corresponding shapes and it was used to turn on inside out for neat finishing

For the back, the two panels were sewn together leaving an opening for the zipper and also the back slit

Proceeding to the pleated back slit, I measured 22" for the length of the slit and 15" on fold depending on how bulky you want the slit to be

The hem of the lace was folded in and hem for neat finishing after which it was sewn to both sides of the main fabric on the slit then it was pleated on the point where the slit opening started from. This is the pleated back view after it was neatly ironed and I hope you like it.

Finally, the front and back were sewn together with the wrapper in front and it was set aside.
This is where I was able to stop today to attend to other things, join me in my next post as I will the sharing with you the final and full outcome of the outfit I will make with this .
