Hello beautiful people
Greetings to you all on this beautiful Easter Monday, I hope you all are enjoying and having nice time with family and friends. It's feels great to be here today to showcase our creativity, learn from other members, to appreciate and encourage ourselves.
It's Easter celebration and most people tends to put on new outfit for the celebration, I have been busy working on other people's outfit that I almost don't have time to make mine, I could remember during Christmas, I wanted to make a dress for myself but time didn't permit me as I was trying to meet up with other people's outfit before the delivery date. This time, I said to myself even if it's something simple, I should be able to make something for myself, I hardly have time to make outfit for myself as I am too busy with other activities.
Immediately I finished making people's clothes with me, I have a day left to cut and sew mine for Easter Sunday service, lucky enough for me, I was able to finish it even when I finished it very late at night the joy is that I was able to make something new and beautiful for myself after a very long time.
I will be sharing with you today the making of this straight gown with slanted shoulder line using the combination of soft lace and Ankara fabric I made for myself.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
First, I drafted out a princess dart bustier pattern on a brown paper to remove any bulging and to give me a perfect shape which was later interpreted on the main fabric, I wanted it stylish so I slanted the shoulder line to give a beautiful outcome.
On the slanted shoulder line, I completed it with soft lace fabric of matching colour
I added interfacing to the upper bodice and covered it with lining.
Next thing I did after i completed the upper bodice was to proceed to the lower bodice, I cut out a straight lower bodice with an inch inward to give me a curvey shape at the back.
The upper and lower bodice were sewn together and to complete my dress, I cut out a basic long sleeve with a puffy sleeve at the wrist and this gave me a beautiful outcome.
I was able to finish it and wear it to church yesterday being Easter Sunday.
You can see how beautiful and perfect it looks on me, I'm so happy with the outcome, at least I have an additional new outfit for myself after a long time.
