Hello everyone

Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are all doing great at your respective places, it is my pleasure to share with you today this simple and beautiful gown outfit with long sleeves made for my friend using a beautiful and colorful fabric.

My friend decided to make a family outfit for herself and her kids, for this to be achieved, she bought enough fabric to make simple outfits for the family but first, I decided to make for the mother and subsequently I will make that of the kids as well.
This outfit I made for my friend is a simple short gown which is below the knee length it has a zipper at the back for it to be easy to wear and finally with a long sleeve with elastic band to gather the wrist together to give it a stylish outcome since it's just a simple gown, I'm sure she will like the beautiful outcome.
Join me as a take you through is simple step by step process below
The fabric was folded in two to cut the front part of the gown using the bust, waist hip and full length measurements as well as the neckline, shoulder and armhole circumference were also marked and cut out

To cut out the back part of the gown, the front part that was initially cut out was placed on another folded fabric with the zipper allowance of 1.5" to remove the bulge at the back, I cut out 1" from the center waistline at the back

I placed the front and back on a black lining to cut out same shape and it was taken to the sewing machine as I used the lining to turn the bodice inside out for neat finishing and to make the gown firm on her body.

The two panels for the back were sewn together with the 1" zipper allowance after I have used 0.5" to sew the lining then I left 10" for the back slit

The front and back bodice were sewn together with the side seam allowance and I long zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance at the back

The armless gown was set aside as I proceeded to make the long sleeve to be sewn to the armhole circumference.
For the sleeves, I cut out a basic sleeve using the armhole circumference and the sleeves length measurements x 2

The hem of the sleeves were folded in by 2" and I marked and 1" which was sewn on for the elastic casing.

I went ahead to cut out an elastic band of 1 x 10" and inserted in the loop I made at the hem and I have this ruffle at the hem of the sleeves

Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference of the outfit and this is the beautiful outcome.

This is a very easy and simple outfit to make and I'm sure you like the beautiful outcome. She can decide to use a belt on the waist or wear it just the way it is.

Join me in my next post as I bring to you other beautiful creativity from my sewing room as well as the other outfits for my friend's children using same fabric.
