Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are all having a great time full of fun with family and friends. This is one of my quick and urgent projects I recently did and i thought to share as i can be beneficial to someone reading through this post just as I get inspired by other seam mate projects here. One good thing about this project is that it can be achieved with pieces of left over fabric that were supposed to be trash away but with this simple project you canmae something meaningful and useful from it.
Just yesterday, a friend of mine came visiting and after awhile, she asked if I had a purse to give her for her mom for the safe keeping of her phone and money, well my friend knows I usually have things as much at home but unfortunately I didn't have at the moment she asked, so I promised tomak one for her as it is very simple and easy to make. Immediately I proceeded to the making so as she can go with it for her mom.
This particular purse is made from left over pieces of fabric with a zipper to secure the items in it and wth a matching lining for neat finishing. Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
From the left over pieces, I measured and cut out a rectangular shape measuring 11 x 9" then I cut out an interfacing of same size which was ironed on the wrong side of the fabric.
A black zipper was placed on the edge of the fabric on the right side and I placed the lining on it to be sewn together on both sides
The both sides were zipped together and sewn on both sides.
Finally, the excess zipper was trimmed off and it was turned to the right side.
This is the final and beautiful outcome, I'm glad I was able to make this for my friend for her mom an she wa s happy to have the purse at no cost for her mom to secure her phone and cash.
Join me in my next post as I will be sharing with you beautiful creativity and crafts from my sewing room.
