Hello everyone
Season greetings and a happy Monday to you all on this beautiful day in this great community, it's time of the year when we all get busy with making outfit for people around us and I trust you must have began your sewing project just as I have, for me, I have decided to start my work early so as to finish early in order not to disappoint my family and friends who has entrusted their fabric to me to make their outfit. I wish us all the best in this season with a productive and good result.
Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this white lace gown outfit for my sister for Christmas as I will be sharing the step by step process
Last month, I was given this white fabric to make Christmas outfit for the family for Christmas but as this fabric was given to me, I was told to use a stylish neckline as well as a unique sleeve that will fit perfectly with the outfit. To make the outfit, I had to get some sewing materials from the market which requires some cash but unfortunately, the cash was not sent to me until last weekend, so I had to rush to the market to get the material needed and I began work immediately.
I had made this neckline for a friend sometimes ago and I love the beautiful outcome so I decided to make same neckline for my sister's gown outfit as well. From the fabric, I folded it in two with the hip circumference measurements divide by 4 plus 2.5" for ease and seam allowance then 5" for the fullness at the hem
The vertical and horizontal measurements were marked on the fabric with the fullness connected together as well as the stylish neckline and it was cut out, it was placed on a white satin for the lining and I cut out same shape
The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back with zipper allowance at the back and a 2" neckline depth, I also cut out satin for the back part to serve as the lining, it was sewn together and used to turn the main fabric inside out for neat finishing
The front part was sewn together with the satin and used to turn it inside out for neat finishing as well
The back part were sewn together with a white zipper sewn on the zipper allowance
The front and back were sewn together with the side seam allowance and this is the final outcome
After all this has been successfully done, now I'm left with the choice of sleeves to make, I have made a lot of outfit for my sister with different types of sleeves, but with this, she wanted a different and stylish sleeves which will be different from what I have made before, at this point, I don't have a particular type of sleeves to make, I have decided to set it aside for now until I'm able to decide, but with the help of my sew mate, I'm sure you can help me out.
Please, you can help to suggest a sleeves that will look beautiful on this outfit and I will be very grateful.
Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post as I bring you the complete outfit and other beautiful creativities. Do have I great and productive week.
