Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I’ll be celebrating my favorite community of Hive. This is my entry to the Community celebration. I initially came across this post from post but the entry had closed then and yesterday I saw through
post that it was re-opened till noon today. It made me happy because I was initially bummed that I couldn't talk about my favorite community on Hive.
If you follow my blog then I think you will most likely get a pretty good guess as to what my favorite community will be. I mean, it can be no other than the Needleworkmonday community. The Needleworkmonday community was created by and has wonderful community builders.
Needlework was one of the reasons I joined hive. I remember Nonso trying to convince me to join hive and my major concern was what do I have to offer the hive community and then he said there is a community for needleworkers. You get to share your crochet projects and be around people who do the same as you. I was more than excited to hear that.
Fast forward to when I finally joined hive and found my way into the needlework community and the reception was massive. I instantly got support from and other needleworkers, way more than I anticipated.
Not many people appreciate handmade stuff in my country, most people are just getting open to the idea of crochet wear and it feels really good to be in a community that knows and appreciates every effort that goes into making a crochet project. Here, I got to meet like-minded people and also get crochet ideas from posts in the community.
Needlework has been a part of my life since I was a child. My mom is a seamstress, I used to help her with customers' clothes since I was younger so I know a thing or two about sewing. I discovered my passion for crochet about a year and a half ago but it wouldn’t have grown to what it is today if I didn’t get the support I got from the needlework community.
Asides from crochet, I get to see other members showcase their skills in so many different ways. I go wild for the amigurumi, they always look so good. I have never made one but it is quite impressive what other people create. There is a lot of support in the needlework community which is what most people need.
The needlework community has allowed us, members, to share our projects, experiences, learn from one another, and even be creative with the things we do. I feel proud being a member and won’t hesitate to invite new members.
Here’s the community and Discord link for new members who would like to join.
Thanks for stopping by ❤️
