Hello everyone. I'm excited to take part in this contest by . I love the idea because I am not one to recycle old jeans. Usually, I just throw them away. It wasn't until I joined the needlework community and saw other members recycling their old jeans that I realized I didn't have to throw away my old jeans.
For this contest, I did something simple and regular. I had something else in mind but the power outage over here prevented me from doing that. As you would see further on, I wasn't able to take proper process pictures because I had a flat battery - I hope you all can pardon me for that.
For this project, I used one of my favourite old jeans. It was ripped jeans, as time went by it began to open wider and I was unable to continue wearing them but because I loved them I didn't throw them out either. It's nice to see I can put it to use again.
Although I wasn’t able to get the process pictures, I have the start and finish pictures. It was a pair of long pants which were ripped in the knee area. So, I cut it in half to make it into a short shirt.
The idea I had for this project was to make it into a skirt. So I loosen the pants in the middle where we have the zipper and then joined them separately on both parts to ensure that there isn't a separate leg hole as would be in the case of pants.
The skirt was pretty much done after that. I used some leftover jean material to add pockets to the sides. I think it turned out okay, I had another idea in mind but couldn't get to it due to some constraints. I hope you like this one.
Ps: I asked my sister to model it for me
Thanks for stopping by❤
